SUMMARYA specific aetiology of limbic encephalitis: neurosyphilis (about two cases) Syphilitic limbic encephalitis is a rare clinical entity; we report two cases presenting seizures, behaviour disturbance and loss of memory. Cerebral MRI revealed hyper intensity on T2 and FLAIR in the temporo-limbic regions. The serology tests of syphilis were positive in blood and cerebrospinal fluid. The diagnosis of limbic encephalitis secondary to syphilis was made considering clinical, biological and radiological arguments. Specific treatment of neurosyphilis was followed by neurological improvement.
