I have noticed that of late years in this Section there has been a tendency to neglect the practical side of our calling, papers on tooth filling, research on materials, and on prosthetics being conspicuous by their absence. I submit that these subjects are as important as many others which we discuss here, and should not be neglected.I think that our programme for each Session should include a paper, or, still better, a demonstration of a technical nature, either in operative dental work, prosthetics or orthodontics. It may be argued that this latter subject is amply provided for by its own Society, but I see no reason why those who possess special knowledge in any branch of our work should not be invited to present it here.On Chronic Fuso-spirillary Infection of the Periodontal Membrane and its Treatment.

Thomas's, which was founded in 1553 by monks, and was named after St. Thomas of London and of Canterbury. At the end of the seventeenth century, one of the governors of that hospital was Thomas Guy (Wilks and Bettany, IBg2), a bookseller and publisher in the City of London (Fig. I).
