This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR). It aimed at improving students’ speaking skill of the 7th grade at SMP N 1 Kotabunan East Bolaang Mongondow through the snowball throwing technique. The subjects of this research were 31 students consisted of 21 girls and 10 boys. But, only 25 students who attended the classroom. In this research, the researchers used mixed method (quantitative and qualitative design). To collect the data, the researchers utilized by using tests and observation. The researchers conducted the tests by asking the questions that related to the lessons that students had previously learnt. Meanwhile, observation was accomplished in order to observe qualitatively about the students’ learning process by the technique. The results showed that, in the first cycle, the mean score was 39.84 with percentage of students who passed the test was 52%. While in the second cycle, the mean score of post-test was 72.16 with the percentage of students who passed the test was 100%. According to the observation in the first cycle, it revealed that students could not carry out the technique properly and some students were not good in speaking such as having bad grammar and pronunciation. Furthermore, the researchers used the papers to construct as a ball in conducting the snowball throwing technique. In the second cycle, it indicated that the students were going better by carrying out the following technique. Based on the indication of the result, it can be said that there was an improvement of students’ speaking skill through snowball throwing technique of the 7th grade at SMP N 1 Kotabunan East Bolang Mongondow.
 This research aimed to find out the strategies of English teacher in teaching reading comprehension in descriptive text and to reveal the implementation of the strategies in teaching reading comprehension in descriptive text. In this research, the researcher utilized case study method by using observation, interview and documentation to collect the data. To analyze the data , the researcher utilized three steps of actions. The first action was to observe students and teacher activities during leaning of reading comprehension in descriptive text, the second action was interview the English teacher and students and the last action was done by taking documentation. The respondent of this research was one English teacher and tenth grade students which consisted of 11 students in SMKN 1 Kotabunan Bolaang mongondow Timur. The results of this research indicate that English teacher composed two teaching strategies, namely reading guide and question guide. The fisrt strategy like reading guide strategy made easier for students to understand descriptive text. This research was conducted to find out whether RAFT technique can improve students’ writingability and to explain how RAFT technique can improve students’ writing ability. This research usedClassroom Action Research with the combination of Quantitative data (scores of pre-test and posttest) and Qualitative data in the form of observation, field notes, journal and documentations. Thenumber of students involved in this research was 20 students. The implementation of this researchwas conducted in two cycles, every cycle consisted of three meetings with the steps of planning,acting, observing and reflecting. The findings through quantitative data of this research displayed animprovement with the percentage of the mean scores from pre-test and post-test. The mean score ofpre-test was 50.75 and the mean score of post-test in cycle 2 was 81.9. The percentage of the studentswho could pass the standard score was 10 % and 100 % from pre-test to post-test cycle 2. It meansthat there was 31.5 increased from pre-test to post-test and 90 % students could reach the standardscore (minimum criterion) since pre-test to post-test cycle 2. While in qualitative data, the resultsthrough observation checklist, field notes, the researcher’s journal, and documentations showed thatthe use of the RAFT technique could improve students’ ability in writing descriptive paragraph. Thestudents became active, initiative, and responsible to their writing. Additionally, the students wereinterested in the use of RAFT technique due to the RAFT aspects in helping them to write descriptiveparagraph orderly. Based on the findings, it could be concluded that RAFT technique was effectiveto be used in improving university students’ ability in writing descriptive paragraph. Regarding onthe conclusion, this research is recommended to English Lecturers or Teachers in teaching writing toimprove students’ ability.Keywords: Writing, Writing ability, University Student, Descriptive Paragraph, RAFT (Role,Action, Format, Topic), Classroom Action Research

Tujuan yang hendak dicapai adalah guru-guru yang ada disekolah tersebut mampu memberdayakan dan meningkatkan kemampuannya untuk menggunakan aplikasi E-learning khususnya pada muatan pelajaran Bahasa Inggris secara mandiri dan berkesinambungan.
