Background:The aim of this study was to determine the cumulative prevalence rate of every sexual dysfunctions (SDs) in Iranian population.Methods:We searched international database such as: PubMed/Medline, Scopus, PsychNET, and Scholar Google and Iranian database such as Iran Psych, IranDoc, IranMedex, and SID. Search duration was between 1990 and 2013.Results:From 449 articles were retrieved, then 11 articles on male with total sample size of 2142 and 8 articles on female with total sample size of 4391 were selected after critical appraisal. For quality assessment check list to evaluate a prevalence article was contained study population, sampling method, sample size, criteria for SD diagnosis, specific rates, study location, and authors list. In male, erectile dysfunction was 56.1%. In female, pooled estimation prevalence of hypoactive sexual desire disorder in complained group was 65.8% (95% confidence interval [CI]: 51.1-80.6%) compared to general population 35% (95% CI: 17.6-52.1%). Sexual arousal disorder in clinical patient was 59.6% (95% CI: 39-80%) against 33.8% (95% CI: 18.3-49.3%) in general population. Orgasmic disorder in complained was 35.5% (95% CI: 16-55%) and in general population was 35.3% (95% CI: 26.8-43.8%). Sexual pain disorder pooled estimation prevalence were 35.2% (95% CI: 14.5-56%) versus 20.1% (95% CI: 6.4-33.8%) in complained and general population consecutively.Conclusions:The rate of SD in Iran was approximately the same of worldwide except orgasmic disorder which was two times more than the worldwide average.
The present study has investigated the relationship between responsibility-taking and identity crisis among one-child students. This research is a descriptive-correlational study and the target population comprised all one-child female students of Mashhad secondary schools in the academic year 2014-2015. In this study, multistage cluster sampling method was applied and finally, Region 4, 6 and 7 were randomly selected and 150 students were also randomly chosen according to Morgan table. The research data was collected through California Psychological Inventory (CPI) and Ahmadi identity crisis questionnaire. The obtained information was analyzed by Pearson correlation test and regression. The achieved results indicated that the relationship between responsibility-taking and identity crisis among students is statistically reverse and significant at the level of p < 0.01. In other words, with reducing the identity crisis in students, their responsibility-taking increases. As a result, the main research hypothesis indicating the relationship between responsibility-taking and identity crisis among one-child students of Mashhad secondary schools was confirmed.
Background and aim: This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of short-term solution-focused group counseling on sense of psychological coherence.Method: This research is a pretest-posttest quasi-experimental study design with a nonequivalent control group and two-month follow-up.The research statistical population comprises all female adolescents in the first grade of secondary school who referred (were referred) to counseling offices in Mashhad Education District in 2015 due to behavioral and academic problems. The research sample consisted of 30 adolescents' 15 years old girl using available sampling method and was randomly assigned into two experimental (15 individuals) and control (15 individuals) groups. For data collection, the revised form of Flensborg Sense of Coherence Scale (2006) was applied. Both groups took a pretest. Then, the therapeutic model (short-term solution-focused method) was implemented during 8 weekly sessions of 1.5 hours for the experimental group, but the control group received no training. At the end of 8 weeks, a posttest was taken from both groups and a two-month follow-up was conducted. To analyze the data, analysis of variance with repeated measures was used. Findings:The obtained results demonstrated that short-term solution-focused training could significantly increase the sense of coherence (P<0.05) among adolescents' girl in both posttest and two-month follow-up. Conclusion:Short-term solution-focused training may promote sense of psychological coherence among female adolescent students.
