Abstract:Sleep disorder for cancer patients is a common and disturbing complaint. Sufficient and high-quality sleep is one of the main requirements of the individuals and it is needed not only for quality of life but also for the preservation of psychophysiologic health. This study was conducted in order to detect the sleep disorder level happening in cancer patients before and after chemotherapy and to emphasize the importance of the follow-up and treatment of sleep disorders in cancer patients. Research was carried out with 30 patients who are diagnosed with phase I-III breast, colon and lung cancer, did not receive chemotherapy and radiotherapy before in Süleyman Demirel University Research and Application Hospitals Zehra Ulusoy Oncology Center chemotherapy unit. Data was collected by using Sociodemographic Attribute Form and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index. In the analysis of the data, percentage distribution Willcoxan Signed Rank tests were used. According to Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (whose global score is ≥5), bed sleeping quality rate in cancer patients is 96,7% before chemotherapy and 100% after six cures of chemotherapy. In the individuals who participated in the study, subjective sleep quality between two measurements increase pointedly, sleep length decreases pointedly. In our research, it is detected that there is no meaningful difference between sleep quality scores and sociodemographic and clinical features. Sleep quality of cancer patients receiving chemotherapy declines. Although negative effects of sleep disorder on quality of life are known, it is neglected by both patients and healthcare personnel. In the direction of these results, it can be said that sleep quality should be evaluated during the treatment process and patients should be supported in this respect.

Bunun yanında, öğrencilerin meslek seçimini etkileyen faktörler ile boyun eğici davranışlarının sosyodemografik ve meslek seçimi özelliklerine göre anlamlı düzeyde farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığı değerlendirilmiştir.
The recent developments on perinatal and neonatal care areas have increased the survival rates of premature babies and raised the question of watchful waiting, care and support treatment in the postneonatal period of the premature. Preterm babies are vulnerable to many complications. By means of providing home care services for preterm babies after discharge, it is possible to provide technical, psychological, and therapeutical support to premature baby and his/her parents for their daily needs in a home environment with an integrated care concept. Home care health services are vital in reducing the rates of premature babies' readmissions to hospital, determining the complication symptoms in the early period, in evaluating the family environment of the preterm, in evaluating the concerns and competences of the parents towards the care of the preterm at home, in ensuring the inclusion of parents in the care, in increasing their skills and encouraging them, in creating opportunities to train the parents on subjects they are unaware of, and in protecting and improving their health conditions. This review was written to draw attention to the importance of the role of nurses in post-discharge home care of preterm infants.
