Distorsi las T baja ST37 dengan SMAW berpengaruh pada kualitas, ketelitian, ukuran, dan dimensi. Distorsi dipengaruhi oleh panas lasa dan tebal pelat. Penelitian bertujuan menganalisis variasi arus listrik (I) dan tebal pelat (h) terhadap distorsi angular T Baja ST 37. Metode yang digunakan berupa kajian eksperimental pre test dan post test untuk memperoleh data yang relevan dengan hipotesis yang akan diuji. Tujuan penelitian (1) Menemukan pengaruh variasi besar arus listrik (80 A, 100 A, dan 120 A) pada pengelasan SMAW terhadap distorsi angular sambungan T baja St 37, (2) Menemukan pengaruh variasi ketebalan pelat (3 mm, 4 mm, dan 5 mm) pada pengelasan SMAW terhadap distorsi angular sambungan T baja St 37, (3) Menemukan pengaruh yang signifikan antara variasi arus listrik (80 A, 100 A, 120 A) dan ketebalan pelat (3 mm, 4 mm, 5 mm). Penelitian ini tergolong jenis penelitian eksperimental dengan rancangan factorial 2 x 3 x 3. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa besar arus listrik dan ketebalan pelat mempengaruhi terjadinya distorsi angular pada sambungan T baja St 37, diantaranya: (1) Arus listrik 120 A menghasilkan mean distorsi angular tertinggi yaitu 2,014 mm dan arus listrik 80 A menghasilkan mean distorsi angular terendah yaitu 0,558 mm, (2) Ketebalan pelat 3 mm menghasilkan mean distorsi angular tertinggi 2,014 mm dan ketebalan pelat 5 mm menghasilkan mean distorsi angular terendah 0,558 mm, (3) Pada arus listrik 120 A dengan ketebalan pelat 3 mm, pada pengelasan sambungan T paling tinggi menyebabkan distorsi angular daripada arus listrik dan ketebalan Pelat yang lain dengan nilai rerata sebesar 2,014 mm.
Thin Wall Ductile Iron (TWDI) is used in exhaust manifolds in the automotive industry. TWDI can also be called thin, ductile and strong steel. However, from some of the improvements, further observations are still being made. One of the ways to investigate TWDI is in the form of multi-stage spheroidising heat treatment. He treated this for an in-depth study of preventing the formation of carbides and knowing the structure of TWDI. Temperature and time are the main parameters given to the heat treatment, which is a temperature of 700 0C and held for 30 hours. This is to explore the structure of the surface on.
