Our short-term observation results demonstrate that HBO treatment increases tracheal healing and decreases the complication ratios. HBO may be preferred as a supportive treatment modality during the healing period after tracheal surgery.
The clips used in our study were shown to cause the degeneration of neural structures within 2 days. At the end of the 45 days following the removal of the clips, progressive, degenerative changes radiating along the axons of the sympathetic cells were seen.
HBOT may be effective in tracheal reconstruction by increasing epithelization and neovascularization after extended tracheal resection. HBOT, therefore, should be considered in CTA transplantation.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
