A plethora of researchers has dominantly kept their focal point on the concept of social entrepreneurship and its economic development and sustainable aspect, but very few studies have been carried out which solely emphasized the youth and social entrepreneurship in Bangladesh. This study aims to explore the factors associated with the perception development of social entrepreneurship intention among business school graduates in Bangladesh. Primary data has been collected by using a structured questionnaire on 350 respondents and analyzed by using Spearman correlation. This study revealed most of the young graduates chose to participate in social entrepreneurship since it allows them to be independent and help to fulfill their social spirit. They also perceived that social entrepreneurship as a respectable and noble career. Interestingly, they also considered that job as risky and seems like take the advantage of other difficulties or poverty. They are also do not get family support to do social business because they perceived that social entrepreneurship is only for people who cannot get the desired job.
This study investigates the managerial problems faced by the institutional heads in the area of educational management in Bangladesh. The aim of this article is to recognize the key influences, challenges and barriers of the organizational heads in the education management sectors and to pursue the adequate solution of those complications, which are the strong barriers to achieving the organizational objectives in the field of educational management. For this research, qualitative descriptive methodology was employed to collect secondary data from different authentic sources. In Bangladesh, organizational leaders in education sector face numerous challenges and difficulties in carrying out their managerial activities in the field of educational management. In terms of administrative abilities, they have immense gaps and deficiencies in conducting their respective actions and obligations in the educational institution, such as managing the institutes with supervision, control, assessment, motivation and effective utilization of resources. This study is critically reviewing the Henri Fayol’s 14 principles for application into educational management. This study also recommends Henri Fayol’s principles for developing management skills of academic institutional heads.
The Leather Goods and Footwear Manufacturing (LGFM) sector is emerging as the fastest-growing sector next to Ready Made Garment (RMG) sector in regard to export-oriented revenue earning in Bangladesh. The demand for LGFM is increasing day by day equally across the global and domestic markets. LGFM is mainly a labour-intensive manufacturing sector. It is facing challenges in managing employees and maintaining social compliances at this moment, which is also the concern of international buyers. Though the history of labour unrest in the LGFM sector is very little, the existence of grievances is good in numbers. This paper aims in identifying the practices of the Bangladesh Labour Act (BLA) 2006 in the LGFM sector. It also finds out the areas of discrepancies that workers encounter in regards to their employment rights. This is a qualitative study and primary data have been collected mainly through four Focus Group Discussions (FGDs). The main finding of the study is the violation of employment rights and non-adherence to BLA 2006 by the management of LGFM. The study also speculates the possibility of labour unrest like RMG in this sector as addressed by the respondents. Therefore, this study can draw the attention of policymakers and employers to be concerned in ensuring the legal employment rights of LGFM workers. A recommendation has been made at the end of this study about the importance and ways of improvement in practising BLA 2006 in the LGFM sector.
