The present research carried out a review of the scientific literature with the objective of identifying the properties and manufacturing processes of ecological bricks, according to the research journals published in the last 10 years, using the systematic review methodology. For this purpose, research sources such as Redalyc, Scielo, Redib, among others, were used. These provided us with the necessary information for this purpose. Among the limitations, the lack of empirical research on ecological bricks was a serious factor, since the scarcity of information on the processes, characteristics and value of these wastes was identified. However, it can be concluded that, over the years, research related to ecological bricks has been increasing, due to the excessive increase of inorganic and plastic waste. The purpose of this research is the correct identification of the different properties and processes of ecological bricks, and how they influence in the reduction of inorganic and plastic waste, originating an ecofriendly alternative compared to common construction materials, also managing to address the inadequate management of segregation of these wastes.Keywords--Green bricks, recycling, emerging technology, green building materials.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
