Data were collected with the Personal Information Form, Individualized Care Scale-A-Nurse Version, Empathic Tendencies Scale. For the analysis, descriptive statistics, t test, analysis of variance, Pearson's correlation, multivariate linear regression analysis were used.Findings: Marital status, education level, length of service, clinic worked in, number of patients, and empathic tendency level was determined to be statistically significant predictive factors for nurses' perceptions of individualized care (P < .05). Practice Implications: Nurse managers can organize in-service training programs to improve clinical nurses' perceptions of individualized care, empathic tendencies, and skills. K E Y W O R D S empathic tendencies, nursing, perceptions of individualized care | INTRODUCTIONOne of the most important concepts of nursing that have never been changed in the history of nursing and make up the spirit of nursing science and the independent function of the nursing profession is care. Care is the use of nursing knowledge and skills to protect, develop, and promote health based on values such as empathy, compassion, reassurance, and help. 1,2 Today, the tendency to use the standardized protocols that ignore the individuality of a patient in the provision of nursing care has become widespread. 3,4 However, quality care is only possible with individualized care which takes into account the personal characteristics, beliefs, values, needs, and preferences of an individual and allows him/her to participate in the care given to him/her. 4,5 Individualized care nursing philosophy is the actualization of the belief in a person's individuality, uniqueness, and integrity which form the basis of values and ethics codes. 6,7 One of the indicators of quality and safe care and nursing activities whose aim is to produce positive patient outcomes is individualized care. Individualized care has also been reported to contribute to the health care costs by reducing medical errors, infections, mortality and the use of health care services. 1,[11][12][13] Individualized care increases not only patients' autonomy and satisfaction but also nurses' work-related satisfaction and motivation. 4,10,14 Although the positive results of individualized care for patients and nurses are obvious, several studies have shown that nurses neither take into account the principles of individualized care nor integrate them into nursing care plans in all cases. 14,15 There are many factors affecting the provision of individualized care by nurses.Organizational factors such as the type and size ...

Descriptive characteristics, form and the Birth Beliefs Scale were used in data collection. To analyze the data, descriptive statistics, T-tests and ANOVA analyses were used.FindingsIt was determined that factors such as age group, income level, any problems during pregnancy and preferred delivery mode statistically affected women's birth beliefs.Originality/valueBased on the findings from this study, healthcare personnel should provide training and consultation services to pregnant women starting from the prenatal period to help ensure a positive labor experience.
Introduction. The novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), which emerged in Wuhan, China, in late 2019, has affected the whole world. Pregnant women who are expected to give birth during this period are one of the most important groups affected by these processes. The aim of this study was to identify the relationship between the fear of childbirth and anxiety among pregnant women during the COVID-19 pandemic. Materials and Methods. The cross-sectional study was conducted on 181 pregnant women in a city in the eastern region of Turkey between July and November 2020. Results. Mid-level fear of childbirth was experienced by 44.8% of pregnant women. A positive correlation was found between the average anxiety score of pregnant women and childbirth fear. Conclusions. The findings of the study will guide healthcare professionals in finding applicable solutions to the problems experienced by pregnant women during the COVID-19 pandemic period.
The present study aimed to determine the effects of foot reflexology on dysmenorrhea. Materials and Methods: A randomize controlled trial design was used. This study included 29 student is in the intervention, 29 student in placebo groups. In the reflexology group, the subjects received 8 reflexology sessions (30 minutes each) in two consecutive mense cycles. The placebo groups , the subjects received 8 foot massage sessions (30 minutes each) in two consecutive mense cycles. To assess the severity of dysmenorrhea, Visual Anolog Scala and Verbal category scale were used in this study. Results: When VAS mean scores of the experimental and placebo groups during 4 follow-up periods were compared, it was found that there is not a statistically significant difference between experimental and placebo groups. Conclusion: Results showed that reflexology and placebo foot massage might be effective in decreasing dysmenorrhea. It is recommended that the students suffering from dysmenorrhea problems should be informed on the foot and reflexology massage. Amaç: Bu çalışma ayak refleksolojinin dismenore üzerine etkisini belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Randomize kontrollü çalışma dızaynı kullanılmıştır. Bu çalışmada 29 öğrenci müdahale grubunda, 29 öğrenci placebo grubunda yer almıştır. Refleksoloji grubu, birbirini izleyen iki menstrual siklus 8 refleksoloji oturumu (her biri 30 dakika) yapılmıştır.
