As Instituições de Ensino Superior (IES) possuem papel fundamental na formação de pensamentos e opiniões, sendo um dos principais órgãos que podem potencializar o desenvolvimento de um pensamento sustentável. Neste sentido, este estudo buscou investigar o grau de conhecimento que os servidores da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM) apresentam sobre temáticas sustentáveis da Administração Pública. Investigou-se ainda, como as práticas de desenvolvimento sustentável propostas para as IES são adotadas pelos servidores da UFSM. A operacionalização da pesquisa ocorreu por meio de um estudo de caso único e holístico, utilizando como unidade de análise a UFSM. A coleta de dados envolveu levantamentos por meio de documentos da IES, arquivos e questionário aplicado junto a 649 servidores da UFSM. Os resultados evidenciam que há ampla deficiência no conhecimento referente a temáticas sustentáveis da Administração Pública. Complementarmente, verificou-se que grande parte dos respondentes não desenvolvem atividades rotineiras visando a racionalização dos recursos utilizados, sendo que foram identificadas algumas iniciativas individuais, mas que não necessariamente refletem no grupo. Neste caso, pode-se concluir que a busca pelo desenvolvimento sustentável na UFSM caminha a passos lentos.
This paper is part of a broader empirical research study about Brazilian industrial firms with innovative characteristics. The study involved more than 70 enterprises in the sample. Its aim was to provide inferences on the relationships between the management of sources of technological information and the innovation performance of the firms studied. In this paper, an analysis compares larger and smaller enterprise and identifies what the differences are between them. The analysis of the data suggests there are associations between many of the indicators of the management of sources of technological information, and the indicators of innovation performance studied. Approximately 100 significant relationships were found and many of them differ between larger and smaller enterprises.
Social media is becoming an important part of an organization's media strategy. This study examines the effects of trust and consumer emotional response to advertisements on brand evaluation in an online social media context. The study used a survey method, and the studied population consisted of 927 Brazilian social media users (Facebook subscribers). The results showed the following: (1) the emotional response to advertising on social media had a positive influence on brand evaluation; and (2) consumer trust had a positive influence on brand evaluation and emotional response to advertisements on social media. It is possible to conclude that consumer trust is the key variable to a positive emotional response to advertisements on social media and to a positive brand evaluation. Finally, this study demonstrates that companies must measure the emotional response to advertising in their social media activities as a way of enhancing brand evaluation.
Purpose -The purpose of this paper is to analyze the practices of strategic sustainability management and the main indicators of export performance in industrial companies of the rubber artifacts sector. Design/methodology/approach -The study characterizes itself as descriptive and quantitative and has had the intention to analyze the main practices of strategic sustainability management and the export performance indicators in companies of the artifacts and rubbers sector of the States of São Paulo and Rio Grande do Sul. For this, one has carried out a survey with companies of the rubber sector. The conceptual model adopted in the study is made up of a set of variables related to the strategic sustainability management and to the export performance. Findings -The main results have made evident that, in general, companies involve stakeholders and their employees in sustainable strategies; internationalize themselves via exports, by means of intermediaries in Brazil and find themselves in an initial internationalization stage. Moreover, it is possible to maintain that most companies do not believe that sustainability is an initiative separated from company action. Practical implications -One recommends to the studied companies a greater commitment with the international strategies, organizing themselves to pressure the government to give a greater support to the studied sector, and a greater inclusion of sustainability in the organizational strategies, in order to improve their competitiveness in the local and international market. Originality/value -The analyzed data allowed identify the great importance of sustainability, with few barriers against their implementations. Furthermore, it is possible to say that the actions which are toward the practice of sustainability management helped positively for the export performance, confirming the hypotheses of this paper.
O estudo propõe-se a compreender como as práticas de gestão da inovação tecnológica com responsabilidade socioambiental influenciam o processo de internacionalização de empresas brasileiras. Parte-se da premissa de que as variáveis socioambientais têm uma influência direta, tanto nos processos de inovação, com a adesão de práticas e ferramentas sustentáveis, quanto no processo de internacionalização, com a inserção em novos mercados nos quais a perspectiva sustentável se torna um diferencial competitivo. A pesquisa de natureza qualitativa e exploratória analisa o caso de uma empresa brasileira internacionalizada e que tem se destacado pela adoção de práticas voltadas à inovação e à sustentabilidade. A análise das características e das práticas de gestão da inovação para o desenvolvimento sustentável identificadas permitiu identificar que a questão socioambiental faz parte das definições globais e tecnológicas da empresa, levando em consideração os interesses institucionais e dos grupos de interesse envolvidos na ação empresarial.Palavras-chave: gestão da inovação tecnológica, desenvolvimento sustentável, competitividade e internacionalização.
