New complexes of Cu(II) with some substituted 2-(3,5-dimethyl-pyrazol-1-yl)-methyl-acetanilides (L) hae been synthesized. The complex compounds, CuL 4 X 2 (where X -= Cl, Br, CH 3 COO) were characterized by elemental analysis, as well as IR, UV-VIS, EPR spectroscopy. The study evidenced the influence of the position of the methyl group on the benzene ring and also of the anions on the physical properties of the compounds.
The Schiff bases obtained from formylmenthone and o-, m-, p-toluidine behave as bidentate ligands with O and N donor atoms in Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes by the type NiL2 and CuL2.(H2O)2. The donor atoms and the possible geometry for the complexes were assigned by means of chemical, thermodifferential analyses and electronic, EPR and IR spectra
Abstract:The Schiff bases obtained from formylmenthone and o-, m-, p-toluidine behave as bidentate ligands with O and N donor atoms in Ni(ll) and Cu(II) complexes by the type NiL2 and CuL2.(H2O)2. The donor atoms and the possible geometry for the complexes were assigned by means of chemical, thermodifferential analyses and electronic, EPR and IR spectra.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
