An asymmetric electrosynthesis is developed by combining anodic oxidation and proline-catalysis to realize enantioselective synthesis of C2-quaternary indolin-3-ones from 2-arylindoles.
A visible‐light‐mediated reaction of N‐phenylpropynamides with diethyl 2,2‐dibromomalonate for the synthesis of bromo‐substituted azaspirotrienediones has been developed. This method allows the formation of C−Br, C−C and C=O bonds in one pot via a cascade radical addition/ipso‐cyclization/oxidation process. A possible radical mechanism involving single electron transfer and energy transfer processes is proposed based on control experiments, cyclic voltammetry determination and Stern‐Volmer quenching experiments.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
