D-NUCA L2 caches are able to tolerate the increasing wire delay effects due to technology scaling thanks to their banked organization, broadcast line search and data promotion/demotion mechanism. Data promotion mechanism aims at moving frequently accessed data near the core, but causes additional accesses on cache banks, hence increasing dynamic energy consumption. We shown how, in some cases, this migration mechanism is not successful in reducing data access latency and can be selectively and dynamically inhibited, thus reducing dynamic energy consumption without affecting performances.

Lysteria Rhomboencephalitis: MR Imaging at Onset and During Follow-up SUMMARY -In this paper we report a case of rhomboencephalitis due to listeria monocytogenes, describing the evolution of the cerebral lesions as they appear at MR examination, at onset and during a follow-up period of eight months. In the acute stage after initial cerebral nerve palsy the patient presented acute respiratory arrest and coma. At this stage MR demonstrated the presence of mycroabscesses surrounded by edema in the rhomboencephalon. Subsequently there was a progressive clinical improvement associated with resolution of the edema and the microabscesses. Eight months later, the patient's clinical condition had improved and only a focal area of enhancement was present in the rhomboencephalon. We also describe MR lesions considering autoptic studies. MR is essential to direct the correct diagnostic workup so that appropriate therapy is promptly established and is useful in the follow-up of these patients.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
