This study aimed to analyze the knowledge of nursing professionals of a Kangaroo Neonatal Intermediate Care Unit (UCINCa) about the Systematization of Nursing care. Resultados e Discussões: Neste estudo após confrontarmos os resultados encontrados com a revisão da literatura, observou-se pontos relevantes dentro dos vários contextos analisados e que são de grande importância para esta discussão. Por meio da literatura consultada, verificamos que o enfermeiro desempenha um papel fundamental, porque é muito importante tanto em questões de ordem burocrática, quando em relação a equipe e a família dos pacientes. Considerações finais: Evidenciou-se a partir da literatura que os enfermeiros percebem este processo como passagem, separação e finitude, porém ainda observa-se um despreparo necessitando assim fomentar discussões sobre esse assunto na academia.

ABSTRACTObjective: To characterize the scientific production about the performance of the nurse in the process of death / dying in an Intensive Care Unit. Methodology: Integrative literature review carried out in the Virtual Health Library: Latin American and Caribbean System of information in Health Sciences, Nursing Database and Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online, using the descriptors "Attitude towards death","Intensive Care Units" "Terminal Care" and "Nursing Care". Results and Discussion: In this study, after comparing the results found with the literature review, relevant points were observed within the various contexts analyzed, which are of great importance for this discussion. Through the literature consulted, we find that the nurse plays a fundamental role, because it is very important both in matters of bureaucracy, and in relation to the team and family of patients. Final considerations: It was evidenced from the literature that the nurses perceive this process as passage, separation and finitude, but still an unprepared is observed, thus needing to foment discussions about this subject in the academy.
