Disseminated cutaneous tuberculosis in an immunocompetent patient: a clinical challenge in the public health system in Brazil Dear Editor, Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Although it mainly affects the lungs, it can manifest itself in other organs and systems. Among the extrapulmonary forms, the most common are pleural, lymphatic, central nervous system, osteoarticular, genitourinary, intestinal, peritoneal, pericardial, ocular, and cutaneous. 1 Between 2001 and 2019, 1.68 million cases of tuberculosis were registered in Brazil, of which approximately 13% (220,700) were extrapulmonary forms. Among them, 256 were cutaneous tuberculosis (0.01% of the total). 2 The morphological variety of lesions depends on the route of inoculation of M. tuberculosis
