Purpose This study aims to investigate the mediating and moderating effects of psychological ownership and belief in just world in the relationship between transformational leadership and work engagement. Design/methodology/approach The data were collected from 183 lecturers who teach in an Indonesian university. The questionnaires covered transformational leadership, psychological ownership, belief in just world and work engagement. The collected data were examined with structural equation model analysis. Findings The results demonstrated a significant moderated mediation index, which indicated that the relationship between transformational leadership and work engagement is mediated by psychological ownership and is moderated by belief in just world. Practical implications To achieve higher work engagement, organizations should increase employees’ feelings of ownership and boost just world belief. Originality/value The present study offers new insight on how personality trait plays a moderating role in the relationship between transformational leadership and work engagement.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the direct effect of transformational leadership on work engagement and the indirect effect mediated by remuneration and educator motivation. This type of research is positivist research. The object of this research is the lecturer at State Polytechnic of Malang. The population in this study amounted to 182 lecturers of Malang State Polytechnic. The sampling technique used census techniques, all populations were used as research samples. The analytical tool used is the Partial Least Square Smart Program (PLS) based on the Variance Based Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach. The results show that Transformational Leadership affects Work Engagement, Remuneration does not mediate the effect of Transformational Leadership on Work Engagement, Educator Motivation mediates the Effect of Transformational Leadership on Engagement. Implementation of Remunerationneed to be repaired to meet related to the performance of supporting activities, indirect rewards, research performance, the performance of teaching/lectures, the performance of community service. Future researchers are expected to research teaching staff at all levels of office.
This study explores the importance of transformational leadership in Indonesian. Since it plays a significant role in increasing employee job satisfaction. Previous research, found a mutual relationship between transformational leadership practices and job satisfaction in organizations. Transformational leadership is currently applied in educational institutions such as universities, specifically to lecturers. Since the topic has not been studied in Indonesia, researches on transformational leadership among lecturers are meritorious. This study, which is based on Bass and Avolio (1990), who that transformational leadership consists ofidealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individual consideration, finds that transformational leadership is considered effective in maximizing lecturer's performance in implementing Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi. However, this study only discusses transformational leadership, so future studies are suggested to use other leadership styles that can be applied in universities or across culture.
Penelitian ini mengambil tema faktor penentu kepuasan kerja. Dalam penelitian ini diambil sampel 50orang sebagai karyawan Alfamart. Studi kuantitatif di mana responden diperoleh dari kuesioner yang dibagikan digunakansebagai data primer diolah dengan SPSS. Respon responden menilai rentang 1-5, dengan skala likert sangat tidak setujuhingga sangat setuju. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dari uraian data mayoritas responden berjenis kelamin laki-laki denganusia dibawah 25 tahun. Uji coba yang dilakukan adalah uji validitas dan reliabilitas yaitu uji validitas kuesioner yangdibagikan, uji t untuk menguji kebenaran hipotesis yang dirumuskan, uji korelasi dan regresi untuk menguji hubungan danpengaruh hubungan dan pengaruh masing-masing variabel segmentasi pasar hubungan konsumen yang merupakanpengembangan karir. Pada uji coba yang dilakukan terdapat kebenaran hipotesis yang dirumuskan yaitu terdapat hubunganyang signifikan antara faktor pengembangan karir dengan kepuasan kerja.
This study takes the theme of some factor as determine for sales. In this study sampled 140 people as speedy costumer from PT. Telekomunikasi Indonesia. Quantitative study in which respondents were obtained from questionnaires distributed is used as the primary data are processed with SPSS. Respondent response assessed the range of 1 – 5, with the Likert scale strongly disagree to strongly agree.Based on the result of the research, from the description of the data respondent majority were male with ages between 36 to 40 years. Trials performed are validity and reliability is to test the validity of the questionnaire wer distributed, the t test for testing the correctness of the formulated hypotheses, correlation and regression test to examine the relationship and influence of each costumer relationship market segmentingvariables that aregeographics, demographics, psychographics and behaviour.Based on trials carried out that there is a truth of the hypothesis formulated, namely that there is a significant relationship and effect betweengeographics, demographics, psychographics and behaviourwith buying decision.
