In recent years, the synthesis of coordination compounds with extended structures has attracted much attention from the viewpoint of nanoscale science, crystal engineering, and solidstate properties. 1 We have demonstrated that a metal-metal dative bond is a useful connector for preparing metal complex assemblages, where the extended structures were constructed by metal-metal dative bonds and normal coordination bonds. 2 In this study, we have prepared metal-metal bonded chain complexes by means of a Pt II fAg + dative bond using [Pt(phpy) 2 ] and [Pt(thpy) 2 ] (Hphpy ) 2-phenylpyridine, Hthpy ) 2-(2-thienyl)pyridine), and report a novel helical 1-D chain complex and
(1,4,7-Trithiacyclononane)silver trifluoromethanesulfonate crystallizes in a tetrameric form from nitromethane, to give the title compound, [Ag(4)(C(6)H(12)S(3))(4)](CF(3)SO(3))(4) x 2CH(3)NO(2). The complex cation consists of four [AgL]+ units (L is 1,4,7-trithiacyclononane), with four Ag-S-Ag bridges forming a cyclic tetramer. The almost planar Ag(4)S(4) ring takes an octagonal form.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
