Synthesis and Biological Activity of 1,3-Dimethyl-6-nitro-7carboxyalkyl(aryl)aminopyrido(2,3-d)pyrimidines.-By reaction of 1,3-dimethyl-6-nitro-7-chloropyrido(2,3-d)pyrimidin-2,4, 5-trione (I) with aliphatic amino acids (IIa) -(IId), anthranilic acid (IIe), and its ester (IIf), the title compounds (III) are obtained. Starting with (III), some new derivatives are prepared, e.g. the pyrimidopyridodiazepine (VII) and (XII), as outlined in the reaction scheme. Reaction of the γ-amino acid (IIIc) with SOCl2 yields the lactam (VIII) which is hydrogenated and subsequently treated with PPA to give the pyrroloimidazopyridopyrimidine (X). The antitumor activity of some of the compounds obtained is tested. -(BYSTRYAKOVA, I. D.; LOSEV, G. A.; SAFONOVA, T. S.; Khim.-Farm. Zh. 26 (1992) 1, 48-51; NIKhFI, Novokuznetsk; RU)
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
