Abstract-Within the LHC cryo-dipole program, six full-scale superconducting prototypes of final design were built in collaboration between Industry and CERN, followed by launching the manufacture of pre-series magnets. Five prototypes and the first of the pre-series magnets were tested at CERN. This paper reviews the main features and the performance of the cryo-dipoles tested at 4.2 K and 1.8 K. The results of the quench training, conductor performance, magnet protection, sensitivity to ramp rate and field characteristics are presented and discussed in terms of the design parameters.
Actual challenge for RF ICs designers lays in the realization of high-quality integrated inductors. This paper introduces the concept of boot-strapped inductor and presents its application in a fully-integrated LNA with resonant LC preselect filter. The LNA achieves a power gain of 36 dB, a band-pass of 140 MHz and a noise figure of 2.0 dB at a working frequency of 1.8 GHz with a 3 V power suppl
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
