Abstract:We demonstrate a diode-pumped passively Qswitched and mode-locking intracavity frequency-doubled Nd:GdVO 4 /KTP green laser with a Cr 4+ :YAG saturable absorber. Nearly 95% modulation depth for the mode-locked pulses inside the Q-switched envelope has been obtained. The Qswitched envelope pulses with the pulse width (FWHM) of 42 ns and the repetition rate of 8.33 kHz were obtained, at the incident pump power of 6 W. The repetition rate of the mode-locked green pulses inside the Q-switched envelope was 417 MHz. The repetition rate of the Q-switched envelope green pulses and the pulse width (FWHM) of the Q-switched envelope dependent on the incident pump power
A diode-pumped all-solid-state ultraviolet (UV) laser at 355 nm with pulse duration as short as 4.5 ns and peak power of 5.96 kW is proposed. The output UV light at 355 nm is obtained by extracavity sum-frequency mixing and has a power of 536 mW at the incident pump power of 15.65 W, corresponding to an optical-to-optical efficiency of 3.4%, the energy distribution of the UV light is near TEM00 and the power stability in an hour is better than ± 5.2%. Taking into account the thermal effects of the gain medium Nd:YVO4 crystal at high incident pump power, a plane-to-plane cavity is chosen to take advantage of the maximum pump power and obtain the compact configuration.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
