Los hábitos y técnicas de estudio es un tema fundamental a la luz de las estrategias innovadoras, para activar y desarrollar la capacidad de aprender de los estudiantes, siendo importante promover la creación de hábitos y el manejo de técnicas que permitan el mayor de los éxitos en la formación en los nuevos ingresos al nivel superior. Objetivo: Determinar los hábitos y técnicas de estudio de los estudiantes de nuevo al nivel superior en la Carrera de Fisioterapia. Métodos: Investigación cuantitativa, observacional, descriptiva, prospectiva y transversal, con muestra censal constituida por los 29 estudiantes del curso de ingreso al nivel superior de la carrera de Fisioterapia, Se utilizó Cuestionario hábitos y técnicas de estudio (CHTE) instrumento con validez de criterio, cuyos ítems fueron agrupados en tres aspectos las condiciones físicas ambientales, la planificación y estructuración del tiempo y el conocimiento de técnicas de estudio, a través del SSPS 26, se evidenciaron estadísticamente los datos. Resultados: escasa planificación y estructuración del tiempo, seguido de inadecuadas condiciones físicas y actitud general hacia el estudio y finalmente de la no aplicación de las técnicas básicas de estudio como: percepción, comparar, retener, subrayado, comprender, generalizar, expresar, resumen y lectura. Conclusión: Se pudo estimar la situación real de manera individual en los aspectos investigados de hábitos y técnicas de estudio en los estudiantes del curso de ingreso universitario y así en el futuro programar intervenciones en relación a enseñar a estudiar en un proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje significativo para el participante de la carrera universitaria. Objective: To determine the habits and study techniques carried out by the students of the initial course of the university curriculum. Methods: Quantitative, observational, descriptive, prospective and cross-sectional research, the population is the sample chosen through the census method, equal to the 29 students of the entrance course to the higher level of the Physiotherapy career, Habits and Techniques Questionnaire was produced of study (CHTE) instrument with criterion validity, which elements were grouped into three aspects: physical environmental conditions, planning and structuring of time and knowledge of study techniques, through the SSPS 26, the data were statistically evidenced. Results: poor planning and structuring of time, followed by inadequate physical environmental conditions, and finally by the non-application of basic study techniques such as: Reading, not writing down and drawing Conclusion: It was possible to estimate the real situation individually in the investigated aspects of study habits and techniques in the students of the university entrance course, and thus in the future to program interventions in relation to teaching to study in a significant teaching and learning process for the participant of the university career.
