Nudging and behavioural insights need to be taken into account in strategic action planning for suppression and reduction of pandemic effects. This paper focuses on a few selected areas of significant importance to getting SAR-CoV2 under control in both the non-pharmaceutical and the pharmaceutical phase, i.e. after the development of an effective vaccine.
Communication and collaboration are critical for designing and implementing responses to climate change impacts and related disasters. This acknowledgement has increased interest in understanding social and institutional networks for climate change adaptation (CCA) and disaster risk reduction (DRR). In this study, we used Social Network Analysis (SNA) to explore institutional interactions within and across the communities of the aforementioned domains in Europe. Firstly, we investigated the type and intensity of interactions. We calculated SNA metrics to assess the roles of different actors and applied cluster analysis to identify actors with similar patterns of connections. SNA showed that communication is often more intensive within the two communities, while collaboration is frequent around topics related to both CCA and DRR. Cluster analysis revealed that actors tied with DRR were more closely connected, while actors tied with CCA and those with mixed connections showed no obvious clustering affinity. The European Climate Adaptation Platform, Climate-ADAPT, had the highest value for various SNA metrics, reflecting its popularity in the network and its potential for enhancing interactions among its actors. Finally, SNA was complemented by qualitative interviews, which emphasised the importance of connecting CCA and DRR in organisational mission and vision statements.Sustainability 2020, 12, 1275 2 of 32 transformative responses, and a good understanding of the social and institutional structures is critical for catalysing them.At the community level, communication and collaboration have proven to be crucial in preparing for, responding to, or recovering from climate-related hazards [5][6][7]. In the course of sustainability strategies many enterprises and organisations have implemented measures to promote pro-environmental behaviours at work, including sustainable resource use. This task, however, often represents a challenge because many daily behaviours of the employees are based on habits and routines that are very difficult to change. This article discusses pro-environmental behavioural interventions in the corporate environment with a particular emphasis placed on habit formation. In reference to common behaviour change interventions and habit formation theory, we discuss how to enhance the design of behaviour change programs and support their implementation at the workplace in order to facilitate the process of habit-formation. The identified habit-enabling adjustments can be used to achieve a permanent reduction in the negative environmental impact of companies and thus become an integral part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Environmental Management System (EMS) strategies. Dieser Beitrag fokussiert das Thema der Gewohnheitsbildung bei betrieblichen Interventionen zur Förderung von umweltfreundlicherem Verhalten am Arbeitsplatz. Ausgehend von gängigen betrieblichen Maßnahmen und der Theorie zur Gewohnheitsbildung wird erörtert, wie betriebliche Maßnahmen so gestaltet und umgesetzt werden können, dass das gewünschte Verhalten sich möglichst zu einer Gewohnheit ausbildet. Die hier identifizierten Maßnahmenkonzepte können somit einen Beitrag leisten, die negativen Umweltwirkungen unternehmerischen Handelns nachhaltig zu reduzieren und als Bestandteil in Corporate Social Responsibility-und Umweltmanagementsystem-Strategien einfließen.
