ResumoIntrodução: A associação entre diabetes e hipertensão arterial parece ser cada vez mais frequente em populações brasileiras, acarretando maior morbidade e mortalidade. Objetivo: avaliar a antropometria e a pressão arterial de diabéticos atendidos em unidades da Estratégia de Saúde da Família de Aragarças (GO). Metodologia: foram avaliados o peso, a estatura, o indíce de massa corporal e a relação cintura quadril, além da pressão arterial em 45 pacientes diabéticos das ESFs de Aragarças (GO). Resultados: de acordo com o IMC, a maior parte da amostra (55,6%) se enquadrava como pré-obeso e os demais se enquadraram no padrão normal (44,4%), sendo que houve predomínio da obesidade entre as mulheres. A maioria das mulheres (75%) apresentou risco coronariano muito alto, ou seja, valores de RCQ acima de 0,82, enquanto que os 25% restantes tiveram risco coronariano alto. Em relação aos homens, a maioria (66,7%) apresentou risco coronariano alto ou moderado (33,3%). Ademais, 71,1% dos participantes foram diagnosticados com hipertensão arterial sistêmica. Conclusão: a associação diabetes e hipertensão arterial foi comumente observada em pacientes diabéticos, especialmente aqueles com IMC mais elevado. Palavras-chave: Hipertensão arterial. Diabetes mellitus. Atenção primária. AbstractBackground: the diabetes and hypertension association seems to be increasingly frequent among brazilian populations. Objective: to evaluate the anthropometry and arterial blood pressure of diabetic patients attended at unities of the Family Health Strategy from Aragarças (GO). Methodology: body weight, height, estature, body mass índex, waist-to-hip ratio, and arterial blood pressure were evaluated in 45 diabetic patients from ESFs of Aragarças (GO). Results: according to the BMI, the majority of the sample (55.6%) was characterized as being pre-obese and the remaining was considered normal (44.4%) with obesity predominance among women. The majority of women (75%) presented very high coronary risk, e.g., WHR values higher than de 0.82, whereas the remaining 25% had high coronary risk. Considering men, the majority had high (66.7%) or moderate coronary risk (33.3%). Furthermore, 71.1% of participants were diagnosed with systemic arterial hypertension. Conclusion: the diabetes and arterial hypertension association was used observed among diabetic patients, especially between those with high BMI.
