Background and objective: Brucellosis is one of the most common zoonosis diseases more prevalent in Iran, especially in Sistan and Baluchestan Province, Iran. This study was aimed to assess factors influencing the behavior based on the Health Belief Model (HBM) among ranchers in Khash city, Iran. Materials and methods: In this cross-sectional study 200 rural ranchers of the Khash city were selected through randomized multistage sampling method from health centers. Data were collected through a researcher-made questionnaire with approved validity and reliability. In this study the role of awareness and health belief model constructs (perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, perceived benefits, perceived barriers and perceived self-efficacy) for the prognosis and implementation of rubella preventive behaviors were studied and analyzed. Data was analyzed using SPSS 18 and Pearson correlation coefficient for determining the relations of constructs and behaviors and linear regression test to determine the prediction of constructs on behavior. Results: The mean age of ranchers was 44±16; 53% of participants were male and 44.5% were illiterate. The mean age of knowledge of the participants was 33 ± 6.5. Between the knowledge, perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, perceived benefits and perceived self-efficacy and behavior there was a positive and significant association, but between the perceived barriers and behavior was a negative and significant association. Furthermore, results showed that self-efficacy and perceived benefits were the behaviors' predictors. Conclu sion: Self-efficacy and perceived benefits were the strongest predictor of behavior. Educational programs based on the health belief model are recommended with an emphasis on increasing self-efficacy and perceived benefits to improve behavior. Paper Type: Research Article.
Background: Correct performance in interventions in health and cure systems, increasing patients' satisfaction and promoting the health state, necessitate the need to make a proper and correct communication among health and cure staff with patients. Objectives: This study is performed with the aim of studying the knowledge, attitude and performance of the health and cure centers staff regarding using communication skills in interacting with clients in Zahedan city. Patients and Methods: In this research, 135 staff from the health and cure centers were selected by random sampling method. Data collecting tool was a questionnaire including four parts that contained demographic information, knowledge, and attitude. Questionnaires were completed by health employee and skills check list was completed through observing the role playing of the health employees in contact with patients. Data was collected and analyzed by using SPSS software. T statistical test, one way ANOVA, Pierson's correlation coefficient and regression analysis were performed. Results: knowledge, attitude and performance of the communication skills in health employees were 36.9%, 34.6% and 41.8% respectively. There was a positive and meaningful association between knowledge and attitude, knowledge and performance and attitude and performance (P ˂ 0.05). There was not any meaningful association between gender, marital state and education with knowledge, attitude and performance, but there was a positive and meaningful association between recruitment manner (projective, contractive and official) and relative performance. Moreover there was a negative and statistically meaningful association between age and service years. The results of regression analysis by stepwise method showed that attitude and age were predictors of perfect performance of the health staff. Conclusion: Knowledge, attitude and performance of the communication skills of health staff are improper and it would lead to not using the communication skills to establish perfect communication with patients, so it seems that it is necessary to make the training courses during the service for health staff about communication skills and observing on performing the acquired skills.
Background and Purpose:Musculoskeletal disorders are of common problems among computer (PC) users. Training of posture reform plays a significant role in the prevention of the emergence, progression and complications of these diseases. The present research was performed to study the effect of the Internet training on the posture reform of the Internet users working in two Iranian universities including Sistan and Baluchestan University and Islamic Azad University of Zahedan in 2014.Materials and Method:This study was a quasi-experimental intervention with control group and conducted in two Iranian universities including Sistan and Baluchestan University and Islamic Azad University of Zahedan. The study was done on 160 PC users in the two groups of intervention (80 people) and control (80 people). Training PowerPoint was sent to the intervention group through the Internet and a post test was given to them after 45 days. Statistical software of SPSS 19 and statistical tests of Kolmogrov, t-test, Fisher Exact test, and correlation coefficient were used for data analysis. Results:After the training, the mean scores of knowledge, attitude, performance and self-efficacy in the intervention group were 24.21 ± 1.34, 38.36 ± 2.89, 7.59 ± 1.16, and 45.06 ± 4.11, respectively (P <0.001). The mean scores of knowledge in the intervention group 5.45±2.81 and in the control group 1.20 ± 1.07 showed a significant change. Mean scores of attitude in the intervention group 3.60 ± 3.59 and in the control group 0.48± 1.03 showed a significant change as well. Mean scores of self-efficacy in the intervention group 14.83 ± 4.67 and in the control group 0.88 ± 1.93 indicated a significant change and mean scores of performance in the intervention group 5.28 ± 1.24 and in the control group 0.62 ± 0.73 indicated a significant change (P <0.001).Discussion:The results of the study showed that training through the Internet had a significant impact on the posture reform of the PC users. According to the findings observed, there was a significant relationship between the scores of self-efficacy-performance after training. Therefore, based on the findings of the study, it is suggested that Internet training to increase self-efficacy approach in the successive periods can be effective to reform the postures of PC users.
