The objective was to report the psychoanalytic psychotherapy process of a 6 year old girl years with eating difficulties. Follow-up was carried out in a psychology school clinic, with the main complaint of oral refusal since the age of four months. This refusal started during a hospital stay in which the diagnosis of Cystic Fibrosis was discovered. Were 24 sessions were held with the patient and 4 sessions with her parents, to get to know the life history of the child and provide a space for speech and guidance for family members.
Throughout the follow-up, food was the main theme of the sessions, which were guided by the child and interpreted by the therapist. This process allowed the child to reframe his relationship with food and became interested in it.
