Purpose: This study aims to determine nurses' positive psychological capital (Psy-Cap) levels and to examine their relationships with employee voice (EV) and organizational silence (OS) behaviors.Design and Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional and correlational study collected data from 341 nurses working at a public university and a private university hospital. The data were collected with the positive PsyCap, EV, and OS scales.Findings: Statistically significant positive relationships were found between positive PsyCap and EV, and between positive PsyCap and relational silence. However, there was a statistically significant negative relationship between positive PsyCap and individual silence.Practice Implications: Nurse managers should support nurses and allow them to participate in decisions that can contribute to nursing, healthcare institution, and the quality of healthcare services.
This study was conducted to determine the relationship between psychosocial development and liking of children in nurses working in pediatric clinics. Materials and Methods: This study was conducted as a descriptive and correlational study on 110 nurses working at two hospitals. Data were collected using an information form, the Modified Erikson Psychosocial Stage Inventory, and the Barnett Liking of Children scale. Descriptive statistical tests, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal-Wallis test, Pearson correlation and regression analysis and Cronbach's alpha were used in the data analysis stage. Results: It was found that there was a positive, weak, and significant correlation between the liking of children and the subscales of trust, autonomy, industry, identity, and generativity (p<0.05). At the same time, there was a very weak, positive, and significant correlation between the liking of children and the subscales of initiative and ego integrity (p<0.05). No significant correlation was observed between the liking of children and the subscale of intimacy (p>0.05). It was observed that there was a weak correlation between the level of liking of children and the determinant variables of trust, autonomy, initiative, industry, identity, intimacy, generativity, and ego integrity (R 2 =0.133). Conclusion: It was concluded that nurses' levels of trust and autonomy increased the level of liking of children.
New Methods in Nursing Education: Escape Room and Virtual Escape Room The COVID-19 pandemic has caused universities to switch to distance education at intervals. The trainer should meet the wishes of his students when planning and implementing online education. Classes should be an entertaining and instructive experience for their students. To guide the gamification method in education as it makes teaching-learning processes more interesting. The virtual escape room app allows its students to actively enter learning paths. In nursing education, the virtual escape room application can be used for all field courses. They will try to get rid of them by arranging the questions about the field of nursing education through the Google Form and answering the questions of the students. Software downloads with virtual escape room will have fun learning. In addition, we will contribute to clinical training from these practice courses. In these guidelines, the importance of the virtual escape room, which is a new approach in distance education, in main education training is emphasized.
