CONTAMINATION OF SALTY RIVER BY THE INFLUENCE OF MANURE AND POSSIBLE TREATMENT THROUGH BIOSORBENTS AbstractThe production of waste in certain municipalities is growing alarmingly. In some cities the amount of waste produced has been higher than the rate of population growth. From the accumulating waste arises a concern with the generation of leachate, liquid enriched with organic and inorganic matter originated from the degradation of the waste and the percolation of water from the rain in them. In this context, this article discusses the influence of manure generated in the city of Juazeiro do Norte -CE in water bodies that are present in the Watershed study. Presenting data showing that rates of heavy metals found in "Rio Salgado", being well above the levels allowed by resolutions 357 and 430 National Council of the Environment. Furthermore, analytically shown that the use of the biosorbents for reducing the concentration of heavy metals by adsorption is shown to be efficient.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
