-The occurrence of atmospheric bromeliads (Tillandsia spp. -Bromeliaceae) in the structures of electric power distribution networks is a problem for energy concessionaires. A research project is underway to investigate possible factors contributing to bromeliad occurrence in these structures. One stage of the project is to evaluate the correlation between atmospheric pollutants and the occurrence of bromeliads in urban electric network cables using atmospheric dispersion modelling. The results indicate a correlation between pollutants and infestation of bromeliads in regions with higher vehicular than industrial emissions in the study area (Ponta Grossa city, Paraná State, Brazil).

It causes the impression of abandonment and energy distributors do not have enough information to understand the impacts caused by this infestation. A research project is underway to investigate possible factors contributing to bromeliad occurrence in these structures. One stage of the project is to evaluate the correlation between atmospheric pollutants and the occurrence of bromeliads in urban electric network cables. This was made by using principal component analysis to evaluate the correlation between atmospheric pollutants concentration obtained by dispersion modelling and field data of bromeliad abundance. The results indicate a correlation between pollutants and infestation of bromeliads in regions with higher vehicular than industrial emissions in the study area (Ponta Grossa city, Paraná State, Brazil).
Os municípios de Água Santa e Coxilha, ambos localizados ao Nordeste do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul/Brasil, foram aterrorizados por passagens de tornados que ocorreram no dia 12 de junho de 2018, atingindo, principalmente, a área rural de tais municípios. Isso significa que na região Norte e Nordeste do estado, têm grandes probabilidades para ocorrerem esses fenômenos climáticos naturais, por se encontrar no Planalto Meridional onde a frente de ar quente fica instável e a frente fria desloca-se nessa região vinda da Argentina. Dessa forma, o presente artigo têm como objetivos descrever os tornados e as tempestades através de referenciais bibliográficos específicos, analisar este fenômeno com base nas observações das imagens e interpretações dos dados meteorológicos e, também, contextualizar as passagens dos tornados nos municípios de Água Santa e Coxilha.
