Tradition is part of people's lives, because various activities are carried out according to traditions that have been passed from generation to generation. Likewise with the Dumia um Banua tradition which is an ancestral cultural heritage that has an important role in people's lives in Laikit Village. This study aims to describe the Dumia um Banua process, as well as the educational norms and values contained in the Dumia um Banua tradition in Laikit Village, Dimembe District, North Minahasa Regency. The method used is descriptive qualitative method. The results showed that the Dumia um Banua tradition took the form of a traditional ceremony as a form of thanksgiving and entertainment that contained religious, moral, and social educational values. Cultural assets that must be preserved and maintained.

This research aims to explore and explain the “term of reference” on politeness of speech in Manado Malay. The methodology used is a descriptive exploratory method with a technique of tap, speaking and listening, free speaking engagement, record, and notes. The data analysis technique used is the determining element. Term of Reference (the form of referring someone as a reference) as a form of politeness in Manado Malay appears in the oral communication event, how greeting (ego) to the speech partner. These greetings forms are distinguishable in hierarchical relations and egalitarian relations. In general, speakers use the first-person pronoun kita with a variety of kits and atik, self-names (nick name), profession/ position names, term of kinship for the ego.

Kapasitas berkomunikasi lisan dalam bahasa Prancis berarti dapat berkomunikasi dalam hubungan yang lazim dari kehidupan professional. Para pelaku pariwisata dalam hal ini termasuk juga Karyawan Freshmart Express Teling Manado memang perlu memiliki kapasitas seperti ini dalam melayani wisatawan Prancis secara benar agar tidak terjadi kesalahpahaman dalam berkomunikasi ketika mereka datang berkunjung. Kebutuhan ini terpenuhi dengan adanya pelatihan bahasa Prancis tentang penyambutan dalam pelayanan wisatawan, pemberian informasi arah jalan dan situasi tempat, pemberian informasi tentang barang jualan, produksi turistik lokal, informasi harga, serta penggunaan waktu.
