This study was carried out as part of the Minor Species Program of the FCP of the ESPOCH to elaborate nutritional blocks using different levels of sangoracha flour and its effect on the feeding of growing and fattening guinea pigs. A completely random design was used in a combinatorial arrangement of two factors: Factor A for flour levels and Factor B for sex, with three treatments and five repetitions, each one compared to a control treatment. The treatments were carried out by feeding 0% (T0), 7% (T7), 14% (T14), and 21% (T21) of sangoracha flour to 15-days-old guinea pigs weighing 0.360 kg at the start of the treatment. The treatments were continued for 75 days. The results showed highly significant differences in terms of the following variables: final weight, weight gain, nutritional block consumption, forage consumption, total feed consumption, and feed conversion. Overall, the T7 treatment presented good results. However, for the yield of the carcass, the T21 treatment was found to be the best. When evaluating the behavior based on sex, highly significant differences were recorded in the following variables: final weight, forage consumption, and yield to the carcass, all being higher in males; however, when the food conversion variable was analyzed, it turned out to be more efficient in females. The economic analysis showed that the highest cost-benefit was $1.14 obtained with the application of T21. This indicates that adding sangoracha flour to the diet of guinea pigs in the growth-fattening stage does not affect the productive behavior of the livestock, allowing for a new food alternative that reduces costs. Keywords: guinea pig, guinea pig feeding, sangoracha, nutritional block. RESUMEN El presente estudio se realizó en el Programa de Especies Menores de la FCP, de la ESPOCH. Con el objetivo de elaborar bloques nutricionales con la utilización de diferentes niveles de harina de sangoracha y su efecto en la alimentación de cuyes en crecimiento y engorde. Se utilizó un Diseño Completamente al Azar en arreglo combinatorio de dos factores, para el Factor A (niveles de harina), Factor B (sexo), con 3 tratamientos y 5 repeticiones cada uno frente un tratamiento control. Los tratamientos fueron T0 (0%), T7 (7%), T14(14%), T21(21%) de harina de sangoracha, se evaluó durante 75 días, con un peso inicial de 0,360 kg (15 días de edad) en cuyes. Los resultados mostraron diferencias altamente significativas a favor de las variables: peso final, ganancia de peso, consumo de bloque nutricional, consumo de forraje, consumo total de alimento y la conversión alimenticia. Siendo el tratamiento con 7% de harina de sangoracha que presento mejores resultados. Y en relación al rendimiento a la canal, el nivel 21% harina de sangoracha con 63,41% siendo el mejor. Al evaluar el comportamiento en función del sexo, se registraron diferencias altamente significativas en las variables: peso final, consumo de forraje y rendimiento al canal, siendo mayor en los machos, pero al analizar la variable conversión alimenticia resulta ser más eficiente en las hembras. Mediante el análisis económico se determinó que el mayor beneficio costo fue de 1,14 USD con la aplicación del T21. Lo que brinda un indicativo que mediante el suministro de harina de sangoracha en la dieta de cuyes en etapa de crecimiento-engorde, no afecta el comportamiento productivo del semoviente. Permitiendo tener nueva alternativa alimenticia que abarate costos. Palabras Clave: cuy, alimentación en cuyes, sangoracha, bloque nutricional.
