To improve the heating efficiency of the induction cooker system, this paper adopts the method of introducing an adiabatic layer between the pot bottom and the coil. By using COMSOL software, the electromagnetic - thermal coupling model of the induction cooker is established to analyze the effect of the adiabatic layer on the food temperature and coil temperature, and finally the heating efficiency is explored. The obtained simulation results show good agreements with the experimental results, and then the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified.
Magnetic guidance drilling technology is use of magnetic guidance instrument measuring the distance between the signal source and the location of the instrument, and it is used to control the well trajectory to connect or parallel the target layer. And it is an effective supplement of the existing steering drilling technology. At present, the magnetic guidance drilling technology is mainly applied to drill horizontal wells in pairs for the super heavy recovery, CBM horizontal connected wells, underground soluble minerals, relief well and so on. This paper introduces the research process of the magnetic guidance prototype.
Purpose This paper aims to analyze fatigue failures of a typical marine gearbox under harsh ocean conditions, and these failures are reasonably attributed to the bearing fretting fatigue damages. Design/methodology/approach Two typical FAG cylindrical roller bearings mounted on this marine gearbox are particularly used for analysis, as they are most vulnerable to these failures. A series of simulations have also been conducted to verify the analysis results and failure reasons by reproducing the fretting fatigue damages for the same shaft-bearing system under the same manufacturing error conditions. Findings The analysis results indicate that manufacturing errors are the most possible reasons for the bearing failures, and these errors have more effects on the FAG cylindrical roller bearing as compared to other bearings mounted on the same shaft system. The simulations results are in good agreement with the theoretical analysis results and test results and hence validate that manufacturing errors are the dominant reasons for bearing fretting fatigue damages in this typical marine gearbox. Originality/value Fatigue failures of a typical marine gearbox. Manufacturing errors are the most possible reasons for the bearing failures. A series of simulations have been conducted to verify the analysis results and failure reasons. The simulations results are in good agreement with the theoretical analysis results and test results.
Microwave crag broken is a thermal assisted rock breaking method which could melt rocks. Microwave assisted rock breaking method will not bring new impact, wear and tear, instead, the microwave pretreatment on the rock reduces the difficulty of breaking rock and prolongs the service life of the drill bit. This microwave generator accumulates the microwave near the hot spot to soften and melt the rock through generating and transmitting the microwave. And we had experimented with the microwave generator to penetrate the wood, and weaken the strength of the rock. And the experiment proved the scheme of the microwave assisted rock breaking through microwave near field energy and the thermal runaway effect is feasible.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
