The objective of this study was to detect the environmental impacts generated by the municipal Mata cemetery. In order to aid in the detection and monitoring of the area were used granulometric and chemical terms through EDXRF the study of soil. Considering the results obtained it is concluded that the soil analytical results showed presence of metals in all analyzes, but with levels below the maximum permitted values of metals in Brazilian soils. The Cd was an exception, for this metal values above 0.6 mg kg-1 were found. The clay/silt ratio less than 1.5 in the investigated samples indicates a more weathered soil on the surface than at depths of 30 cm in the cemetery area. Statistical data estimate highly significant Mg, Cl, Al, Fe, K, Ti and Rh factor loads on the surface and at depths, K, Ca, Cl, Al and Mg are the most important. The main ion exchanges correlate with the correlation coefficients found within the same order. Therefore, it is possible that the simultaneous increase or decrease in the cations is the result, mainly, of ionic exchange effects in the mineral assembly of the sediments investigated.
Currently, carbonatites are being severally studied in a prospective matter due to their high chance of containing calcium carbonate, magnesium and iron. They are also considered extremely rich in phosphate and minerals rich in Rare Earth Elements (ETR). In this context, the municipality of Caçapava do Sul has two occurrences of carbonatites: Picada de Tocos and Passo Feio. In order to enrich knowledge and assist in carbonate prospecting, this work aimed to characterize the soil geochemistry at the occurrences of the carbonatites in Caçapava do Sul. The data obtained revealed that there is an anomalous presence of Ca, Mg, Fe, Ti, P, Mn, Co, Th and Ce elements. This anomaly is directly linked to the presence of carbonatites in the region and their chemical composition.
This article presents the first detailed geochemical data of the water from Camaquã das Lavras and Hilário Streams from Lavras do Sul-RS. Geochemical and statistical analyses were used in this study to establish the anthropogenic or natural influence on the region. The results classified the waters as soft and intermediate with acidic and neutral pH. The electrical conductivity varies from 37.2 to 62.9 μs cm-1 and the total alkalinity ranges from 4 to 30 mgL-1. The distribution patterns and ratios indicate that clay mineral weathering is dominant on the investigated samples. It is followed by feldspar weathering in an environment under temporary hardness conditions. Cu, Rh, and Cd enrichment is associated with the many mineral deposits of the region, lithological diversity and human activities. All the measured values conform with the standards set by Brasil-Ordinance nos. 2914/2011, 36-GM/1990 and 1469/2000.
This aim presents the first detailed geochemical data of water of the Jaguari stream, Lavras do Sul-RS. In this study we use Principal Component Analysis (PCA) to establish geochemical grouping that can be related back to likely mining, lithological and anthropic actives in the region. The results indicated that the high concentrations of Cu, Rh and Cd have a close relationship to local anthropic activities and lithological with geochemical changes seasonal fluctuations. The geochemistry results too indicated waters classified as soft and hard (total hardness range from 53.02 to 79.28 mg L -1 ), neutral pH, and electric conductivity ranged from 157.1 to 184.9 µs cm -1 . All measured values met the potability standards for human consumption established
