Recent studies have shown that certain soil microorganisms are capable to sustain plant nutrition in both conventional and organic agriculture; however, yet further studies needed for evaluation of the factors affecting PGPR performance. The goal of this research was to evaluate performance of natural bacteria relative to nutrient uptake and biomass development in corn (Zea mays L.) as it is related to conventional production systems. Soils have been collected from forested areas of Lake Region. The isolated bacteria have been tested at the conventional farm in Mediterranean region. Nine isolated and one cocktailed bacteria suspensions have been applied to rhizosphere of corn plants under regular cultivation practices in conventional production systems. The results revealed that all isolates are showing either positive or negative effect on both plant performance and nutrient uptake. No statistical differences were observed on grain yield; however, Isolates 3 and 9 showed improved grain-excluded biomass performances by 37.1% and 38.5% respectively. Phosphorus, zinc and manganese uptakes were the highest in Isolate 6 whereas the highest Fe uptake was determined in Isolate 8 at the tuft formation stage. Although all isolates represent their specific individual performances as far as any plant nutrient uptakes are concerned, their cocktail was not as effective. That happened probably due to competition between the isolates.
ÖzBu çalışma, "Macar fiği (Vicia pannonica Crantz.) Bitkisinde Gama Işını Uygulaması ile Mutasyon Islahı" projesinin M 2 generasyonunu kapsamaktadır. Araştırma, üç Macar fiği çeşidinde, gama ışını dozlarının M 2 generasyonunda, bazı bitkisel özellikler üzerine etkilerini belirlemek ve kontrol doz (0 Gy) uygulaması ile karşılaştırmak amacıyla yürütülmüştür. Araştırmada, üç Macar fiği çeşidinin (Tarmbeyazı-98, Anadolupembesi-2002 ve Oğuz-2002) M 1 bitkilerinin tohumları ekilmiştir. Elde edilen M 2 bitkilerinde, morfolojik, biyolojik ve tarımsal karakterler incelenmiştir. Ankara/Haymana koşullarında, 2011 yılında yürütülen çalışmada, çıkış oranı, çiçeklenme süresi, bitki boyu, ana dal sayısı, bitki başına bakla sayısı, bakla başına dane sayısı ve bakla boyu belirlenmiştir. Araştırma sonuçları; farklı dozlarda gama ışını uygulamasının M 2 generasyonunda, çıkış oranı, bitki boyu, ana sap uzunluğu, ana dal sayısı ve bakla sayısında, özellikle 80 ve 100 Gy gama ışını dozlarında önemli farklılaşmaya yol açtığını tespit edilmiştir. AbstractThis study covers M 2 generation of the mutation breeding Project with practice of gamma irradiation on Hungarian vetch (Vicia pannonica Crantz.). The study was counducted, with the purpose of determine and contrast control dose have effects on some properties of vegetational. In the study, M 1 plant seeds of three Hungarian vetch cultivars (Tarmbeyazı-98, Anadolupembesi-2002 and Oğuz-2002) were planted. It was examined that morphological, biological and agricultural characteristics obtained M 2 plants. In this study, which Ankara/Haymana in the conditions was counducted, in 2011; emergence rate, flowering period, langht of main branche, plant height, number of main branches per plant, thickness of main stem, number of pods per plant, height of pod and number of seeds per pod were recorded. The results of the study showed that were important of differentiation in the application of gamma irradiation by 80 and 100 Gy doses of gamma rays in M 2 generation, emergence rate, plant height, height of main stem, number of main branches per plant, number of pods per plant and number of seeds per pod.
