The title compound, C 23 H 23 FN 3 O 2 has been synthesized and the structure was investigated by X-ray diffraction studies. The compound crystallizes in the triclinic crystal class in the space group P1 with cell parameters a = 9.345(2) Å , b = 10.940(3) Å , c = 11.986(4) Å , a = 72.349(6)°, b = 68.106(18)°, c = 66.867(5)°, Z = 2 and V = 1027.8(5) Å 3 . The hydantoin ring adopts a planar conformation and is affected by the p conjugation. The pyrrolidine and piperidine rings in the bicyclo octane moiety adopt envelope and chair conformations respectively. The structure exhibits both inter and intramolecular hydrogen bonds of the type N-HÁÁÁO, C-HÁÁÁO and C-HÁÁÁN. One of the oxygen atoms attached to the hydantoin ring simultaneously accepts two hydrogen bonds to form a three centered hydrogen bonding pattern.
In the title chalcone derivative, C15H9Cl2FO, the dihedral angle between the aromatic rings is 19.13 (15)° and the double bond adopts anEconformation. In the crystal, molecules are connected by weak C—H...O hydrogen bonds, forming a chain propagating along the [001] direction.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
