Given the diversity and complexity of maxillofacial loss of substances (LOS), its management requires the association of several specialties; the decision on a strategy or treatment plan is discussed during a multidisciplinary consultation meeting. However, this is unfortunately not always applied for reasons of the distance between health facilities or due to lack of time (or others). This collaboration is crucial in cases of maxillary, mandibular and extra-oral LOS; A preoperative consultation is essential to discuss the predicted extent of the surgical procedures. The maxillofacial prosthodontist designs devices for prevention, restraint, replacement, or reduction after obvious resection and/or repair surgery. Through this work, we propose a link between the maxillofacial prosthodontist and the maxillofacial surgeon. It would allow to corroborate their collaboration and consequently to facilitate the good progress of the treatment. Highlights
