Compared with BiFeO 3 prepared under similar conditions, the magnetic properties were significantly enhanced, with saturate magnetization of 1.6 emu/g and remnant magnetization of 0.7 emu/g at 300 K. Clear metamagnetism was observed in Bi͑Fe 0.95 Co 0.05 ͒O 3 . online͒ XRD patterns of BiFeO 3 and Bi͑Fe 0.95 Co 0.05 ͒O 3 , the diffraction peaks of Bi 12 ͑Bi 0.5 Fe 0.5 ͒O 19.5 are marked by stars.APPLIED PHYSICS LETTERS 95, 112510 ͑2009͒
