Carotid body tumors are defined as unusual tumors of neuroectodermal origin that occur in the carotid bifurcation. These generally benign masses grow slowly; then, they become symptomatic with enlargement. In this study, we present a case of a 66-year-old female patient diagnosed with a carotid body tumor with a diameter of 8×9×10 cm. The patient was surgically treated 2 days after embolization due to the wideness of the mass and surgical comorbidity. Furthermore, this article puts emphasis on the importance of embolization before curative surgery in carotid body tumors with large and high blood supply.
The COVID-19 infection from China has turned into a worldwide epidemic and the early diagnosis, control and limitation of the disease plays an important role in affecting the health systems of the world countries and the prognosis related to patients. In COVID-19 patients, the first 2 weeks is usually a viral and inflammatory process. In these patients, after the deterioration in radiological and inflammatory markers occurs, the recovery period begins in the 3rd week and after. In this case report, we presented the changes in the radiological and inflammatory parameters during the recovery phase of the disease stage parameters in a 44-year-old man COVID-19 disease patient who was followed up by the cardiovascular surgery clinic due to deep venous insufficiency.

Acute pulmonary damage and vascular coagulopathy appear to be frequent in patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection relation to corona-virus. The inflammatory process accompanying the infection and excessive coagulation state is one of the most important causes of patient loss.
Aortic dissection and aneurysms are one of the most important life-threatening diseases. After ascending aortic replacement, one of the life-saving urgent surgeries for Type I aortic dissection, aneurysmatic dilatation is usually observed in the remaining portions of the aorta over time. Open surgical repair for these patients still carries a 30% mortality rate despite improvements in open surgical methods, graft materials, and technological options. Endovascular repair provides promising results in high-risk patients. A 72-year-old female patient who underwent ascending aortic replacement for type 1 aortic dissection 9 years ago was admitted to our clinic with the diagnosis of symptomatic aneurysmal dilatation in the thoracic and abdominal aortic segments. We present this case in which we used the Cardiatis® Multilayer Flow Modulator stent to conduct endovascular repair.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
