Background On July 23, the WHO declared the rapidly spreading monkeypox (MPX) epidemic as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC). This study attempted to assess the knowledge, attitude, and anxiety levels of the general population during the MPX outbreak. Methods An online cross-sectional survey was conducted during the period July 27 and July 30, 2022, using a convenience sampling method. The questionnaire was adapted and developed after an in-depth review of the previous studies. Results A total of 510 respondents participated in this study. 277 (54.3%) were male, 233 (45.7%) were female. Participants had insufficient knowledge of MPX with a mean and SD deviation 2.096 ± 1.359, 2.576 ± 1.466, having a normal attitude toward MPX 4.031 ± 1.645. Moreover, they had anxiety problems 32.382 ± 10.094. There were significant differences in the mean rank scores of the knowledge of respondents about MPX according to their gender, marital status, religion, level of education, and place of residence, with p-values of 0.009, 0.000, 0.000, 0.000, and 0.000, respectively. Also, there were significant differences in the mean rank scores of attitudes of respondents toward MPX according to their gender, level of education, place of residence, and age, with p-values of 0.011, 0.020, and 0.000, 0,029, respectively. Lastly, there were significant differences in the mean rank score of anxiety of respondents toward MPX according to their gender, marital status, religion, level of education, and place of residence, with p-values of 0.000, 0.009, 0.000, 0.000, and 0.000 respectively. Conclusion There is an urgent need to raise public awareness and manage people's emotional wellbeing. Taking into account the alarming scenario of rapid rise in MPX cases in many countries, any feasible pandemic probability of this disease amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, proactive control measures, necessary preventive strategies and preparedness plans need to be executed on priority to counteract this global health emergency as well as safeguard the mental health of the general public. Appropriate policies and effectively prevent and control strategies along with disseminating correct information would explicitly help in counteracting MPX outbreaks and avoiding the infodemic's misinformation and disinformations which could pose unwarranted high fears and panic, and ultimately aid in safeguarding the mental health of the people.

The rapid spread of monkeypox (mpox) has been declared as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC). The present study aimed to assess the knowledge, attitude, and worry levels of the general population in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq regarding the ongoing mpox multi-country outbreak. An online cross-sectional survey was conducted between July 27 and July 30, 2022, using a convenience sampling method. The questionnaire was adapted from previous studies addressing the same topic. The independent Student t-test, one-way ANOVA, and logistic regression were used to assess possible factors associated with knowledge, attitude, and worry toward mpox. A total of 510 respondents were included in the final analysis. The participants showed moderate level of mpox knowledge, neutral attitude towards mpox, and a relatively moderate worry level. The logistic regression analysis showed that age, gender, marital status, religion, level of education, and place of residence were associated with mpox knowledge; however, the significant variables in the multivariate regression analysis were gender, religion, level of education, and residential area. Gender, and residential area were associated with attitudes toward mpox; however, the significant variables in the multivariate regression analysis were gender and residential areas. The worry toward mpox was influenced by gender, marital status, religion, and place of residence; however, the significant variables in the multivariate regression analysis were gender, religion, educational level and residential area. In conclusion, the Kurdish population had moderate knowledge, a neutral attitude, and a moderate level of worry about mpox. Considering the continuous rapid rise in mpox cases in several countries, and its possible risk as pandemic amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, proactive control measures, adequate disease prevention strategies, and preparedness plans need to be formulated and immediately implemented to tackle the appearance of fears among people, and safeguard the mental health of the public.
Abstract:The aim of this paper is to discuss and evaluate the result of DST which was conducted in a limestone reservoir of an oil field at the depth interval 3764.29-3903.0 meter in well-1 to evaluate the dynamic characteristics of the reservoirs, for instance: skin effect, permeability, wellbore storage, reservoir boundary and average reservoir pressure. Reservoir Pressure profiles has been recorded for both Buildup and draw down intervals. Semi-log and log-log coordinates have been used to plot the pressure signature date of both buildup period and its derivative to improve diagnostic and Horner plot. In addition, a dual porosity reservoir and infinite acting characteristic was discovered as a result of the well test data interpretation. Wellbore storage, skin factor and transient flow effects have been detected in the DST analysis on the dual porosity behavior due to phase re distribution. Using final buildup sections, the flow parameters of dual porosity reservoir were determined as the flow between fissure and matrix was (7.558 x 10 -6 ) while, the storability ratio between fissure and matrix was calculated as 0.3 and permeability is 102 MD for both matrix and the fissure together. However, negative value of skin factor mostly appears in double porosity limestone reservoirs, positive skin factor of the reservoir has been observed in this study. It can be considered that the positive skin factor can be resulted in either the formation was partially penetrated and /or wells were not cleaned up properly.
