Maritime spatial planning (MSP) is a mechanism of supporting adaptive decision making in response to possible conflicts over offshore wind turbine locations. The main purpose of this study is to determine the location of potential offshore wind turbine sites in the Northern Aegean Sea in Turkey by creating a geographical information systems-based marine spatial planning system for the region. A decision model has been proposed in which GIS and multi-criteria decision-making techniques are used to determine alternative areas. While the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) was utilized to identify viable sites based on several essential physical factors in this study, the Fuzzy TOPSIS approach was used to compare the Gökçeada, Bozcaada, and Enez study regions and find the optimal area. In the final stage, the areas where offshore wind turbine's locations are calculated are energy and exergy efficiency.
Sustainability is a concept for achieving integration and balance in development, in order to preserve and use resources properly, by providing new solutions to overcome structural, social and economic misconceptions to prevent further degradation and waste of natural resources, and to create a better future for human societies. Sustainable development can be defined as a strategy for the correct use of resources, by modifying and redefining consumption patterns and avoiding one-sided development approaches. Therefore, sustainable development is defined as a long-term and unlimited solution for aligning different concepts (social, economic and environmental), seemingly independent but related and influencing each other. This paper examines the challenges and capacities of the Oman Maritime Community and the role of Maritime Energy Management in terms of sustainable development. To analyze this issue, the role of key players in Oman's maritime industry, such as the Oman Fisheries Company and the Oman Shipping Company, has been studied in relation to the five main indicators of sustainable development goals, including people, the planet, peace, welfare and partnership.
This research paper aims at calculating the energy of waves as renewable and clean energy within the Omani coast up to a depth of fifty meters in the terrestrial Waters from the coast and estimates the amount of available energy. Hence, four positions on the coastline have been studied which are two positions along the northern coast and two positions along the eastern coast. The wave and wind characteristics for each position are extracted daily in five months from the Windfinder website and used in calculations. Comparison of the final results indicates which position and at what depth have more capacities to produce more wave power than the other points.
