The world is crying out for ethical and effective leadership that serves others, invests in their development and fulfills a shared vision. Among the many leadership styles (i.e., authoritarian, benevolent dictatorship, participatory, etc.) the one that best represents the ideals embodied in the human factor is servant-leadership. Servant-leadership incorporates the ideals of empowerment, total quality, team building, and participatory management, and the service ethic into a leadership philosophy. This model of leadership emphasizes increased service to others; a holistic approach to work; promoting a sense of community; and the sharing of power in decision making. Servant-leaders must be value-and character-driven people who are performance and process oriented. The aim of this paper is determining the drivers of servant leadership in order to put servanthood behaviors activities into practice among leaders. So at first we developed literature on servant leadership. Then Thirty-three measurement items were developed on the basis of opinions from leaders and the literature. Then Data collection occurred via a questionnaire. To validate the measurement scales for servant leadership, we performed a factor analysis. The results show that a six-factor measurement model (including emotional dimension, commitment to community, egalitarianism, altruism, managerial skills and human skills) fits the data acceptably. All of the measurement items significantly loaded on the constructs on which they were hypothesized to load. These results gave us confidence that the measures are indeed valid and reliable.
Introduction: Current university students are potential and actual parents of future generations. The level of their health literacy affects health and health literacy level of future generations. Therefore, the purpose of the present study was investigating and prioritizing the factors affecting the health literacy of students in Yazd (a city in central Iran) using an artificial neural network technique. Methods: This study was cross-sectional and descriptive and it was conducted on 400 university students in Yazd during autumn 2018. Data were collected using a questionnaire on health literacy and 14 independent variables. Data were analyzed with SPSS software via descriptive statistics, one sample T-test, and artificial neural network. Results: The mean of students' health literacy was 80.65±12.21. The most important factors affecting the level of students' health literacy were the grade, college, father's education level, age, and residence. Conclusion: Since grade had the greatest impact on health literacy of students, it is suggested that university officials consider the campus to hold classes, lectures, workshops and distribute appropriate resources such as brochures, booklets among students and also provide health information stations at locations such as dining room, university entrance, and dormitory to promote students' health literacy in lower grades
Empowering employees should be one of the most important tasks of organization in competitive benefits and its living. Empowering can be counted as the golden key in exploiting all physical and mental abilities of the most important investment meaning human being. Organization regarding complex environment of outside are the powers that can quickly give positive answer to the external environment and this item is not be produced with empowerment. In this research which is gathered in weaving factories, we will pay attention to the discussion about the importance of the issue with studying the literature of research and its background. In the next step, the most important factors were recognized and arranged through interviewing the specialized individuals and providing questionnaires. In the questionnaire of research, the factors that their average were higher than 2, were educed as the final effective factors. In this study, three principle factors along with the secondary factors were recognized and assigned. The principle assumption in this study is the connection of factors with each other. Finally, using analytic network approach, principle factors in empowering employees were recognized and at the final, the results and suggestions will be provided.
For years, the idea of virtue was unfavorable among researchers and virtues were traditionally considered as culture-specific, relativistic and they were supposed to be associated with social conservatism, religious or moral dogmatism, and scientific irrelevance. Virtue and virtuousness have been recently considered seriously among organizational researchers. The proposed study of this paper examines the relationships between leadership, organizational culture, human resource, structure and processes, care for community and virtuous organization. Structural equation modeling is employed to investigate the effects of each variable on other components. The data used in this study consists of questionnaire responses from employees in Payam e Noor University in Yazd province. A total of 250 questionnaires were sent out and a total of 211 valid responses were received. Our results have revealed that all the five variables have positive and significant impacts on virtuous organization. Among the five variables, organizational culture has the most direct impact (0.80) and human resource has the most total impact (0.844) on virtuous organization.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
