The prevalence of inequalities in the general health position of communities can be assessed by using selected determinants. The aims of this article are three-fold: (1) to apply a comprehensive approach to the assessment of inequalities in the general health position of communities, (2) to determine the spatial differentiation of determinants, and (3) to present selected assessment methods and their impact on the results. To present a quantitative assessment of these inequalities in health status in communities, a composite indicator (Health Index) was developed. This Health Index is composed of 8 areas of evaluation and 60 indicators which include, amongst others, determinants of health status and healthcare at district level (LAU 1) in the Czech Republic. The data are evaluated using multicriteria decision-making methods (the WSA and TOPSIS methods). Findings suggest that, when all eight domains are assigned the same weight of one, the spatial differentiation among the districts is similar when using both methods. If different weightings are assigned to the districts, changes occur in both the index values and the rankings of the analyzed districts. For example, the allocation of weightings in both methods results in a rearrangement of the ranking of districts for which the Health Index is around the average.
This paper is aimed at the analysis of the study results of selected subjects of the full-time and part-time forms of study at the study programme Economics and Management that is offered at the College of Polytechnics Jihlava and covers two fields of study -Travel and Tourism, Finance and Management. The analysis extends and elaborates the findings from the paper Kuncova and Vojackova (2014). The first part of the study compares the results of the period before the start of the e-learning (2008 for full-time students and 2010 for part-time students) with the year 2012 (after the e-learning implementation) for both study fields. The second part is dedicated to the analysis of results of mathematical and statistical subjects. We have formulated 3 hypotheses for the first part concerning the dependence of the results on study year, form of study and study field. In the second part only first two hypotheses are relevant. The results from all selected subjects are tested via Chi-square test of independence. This comparison should answer a question if the e-learning had an impact on study results and if we can find dependence between results of two different types of study, two different years or two different study branches. The comparison shows differences of full-time and part-time students. However, we cannot prove the influence of the e-learning on the evaluation.
The article presents the results of research into entrepreneurship education in economic and noneconomic study programmes of the College of Polytechnics Jihlava (n = 104). The College represents a regional public college of professional orientation in the Vysočina Region, where the business potential is relatively high. Significant differences in attitudes concerning entrepreneurship among students of economic and non-economic programmes have not been proven. As well the correlation between attitudes (interest in conducting business, having preconceptions to start a business and subjective evaluation of one's own ideas) and the students' knowledge of entrepreneurship was not significantly demonstrated. Despite these insignificant differences, there have been links in students' attitudes. Students of both programmes have a great interest in doing business even at the cost of having preconception to start a business. Above all, the high risk and uncertainty of business earnings are perceived very negatively. They also admit that they do not have enough knowledge and are thus afraid of starting a business, even though they have their own business ideas. Therefore, it is desirable to focus on new platforms for the development of entrepreneurship education and thus support the potential of students.
