Aqueous zinc batteries are one of the most competitive energy storage devices for future wearable electronics and large-scale energy storage because of their intrinsic safety and low cost. To obtain...
It is of great significance for the sustainable development of society to search for novel coordination polymer-based electrode materials of lithium ion batteries. Herein, a two-dimensional coordination polymer, )-tetraone; DMF = dimethylformamide), was synthesized and first used as a cathode material of lithium ion batteries. The Cu-CP electrode displayed a better cycling stability and the specific capacity of 40.3 mA h g −1 at 50 mA g −1 after 50 cycles along with a Coulombic efficiency of 96.7%. The electrochemical study for the Cu-CP electrode reveals that both Cu(II) ions and 4-DTBPT ligands may be involved in the electrochemical reaction during charge and discharge. Our work demonstrates again that it is a feasible way to utilize the interaction of metal ions and organic ligands with redox activity for constructing coordination polymers acting as the cathode materials for lithium ion batteries.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
