Cellular cannibalism is ability of a larger cell to enclose a slightly smaller one within its cytoplasm. Interfacial energies of host cell and engulfed cell play an important role in celltocell interactions. It can occur not only in tumors but in nontumor cells too.Its correct identification has a significant diagnostic and prognostic value and a matter of keen interest for the pathologist. A gap of knowledge was found in concept designing and clarity about understanding of cellular cannibalism in different oral lesions which made us to report this review.
