A field experiment was conducted in Amasya conditions in northern Turkey for two years in order to determine the effect of zinc and molybdenum fertilization on chickpea following a completely randomized block design with three replications. Doses of zinc (Zn 0 : 0, Zn 1 : 1 ppm, Zn 2 : 2 ppm) and molybdenum (Mo 0 : 0, Mo 1 : 0.05 ppm, Mo 2 : 0.1 ppm) were applied on leaf when the plants were in vegetative stage. Variation of years on all investigated characters was statistically significant. Applied zinc or molybdenum failed to show any significant effect on any parameter. It was found that effect of Zn × Mo interaction was statistically significant (p < 0.01) on the seed yield. The highest seed yield resulted from Zn 2 (2 ppm) × Mo 0 interaction. This was followed by Zn 1 (1 ppm) × Mo 1 (0.05 ppm) and Zn 1 × Mo 2 doses showing no statistical differences from each other.
Beans are grown in different environments. The most important issue in bean agriculture is to increase seed yield as expected in other plants. As well reported so far, environmental factors such as rain, heat, their timing and topography affect yield and yield quality in dry beans. So, this study was conducted in 2011-2015 in Samsun (Ambarkopru and Gelemen) and Kirsehir (Mucur and Cogun) locations in order to investigate the effects of the environmental factors on dry bean. For this aim, 20 dry bean genotypes (7 cultivars and 13 pure lines) were used as plant materials. Results showed that G5, G11 and G15 genotypes were close to ideal genotypes. When the year was considered as the environmental factor, the ideal production year was in 2013 with respect to yield and yield quality, concluding that climate changes between years affected yield parameters in dry bean genotypes.
This study were conducted to determine, if stomata density can be used as a criterion in cultivar differentiation or not. In this study, density of stomatas in stipula and abaxial and adaxial surface of leaflets was determined in the flowering and pod set period of 23 pea cultivars and lines that were sowed as wintertime for 2 years. The effect of years on the stomata density in other parts sections except for the stomata numbers in stipula and leaflet adaxial surface were determined on the level of statistical significance. In pod setting period, stomata numbers were higher compared to the flowering period. Stomata number in leaf section of the 5 cultivars used in the trial is in general higher than those of the lines. The determination of year x genotype interaction in the study shows that there is not enough evidence for using this characteristic for cultivar differentiation.
