Preparation and Luminescence Characterization of New Carbonate (Y2(CO3)3·nH2O:Eu 3+ ) Phosphors via the Hydrothermal Route. -The new title phosphor is hydrothermally prepared by reaction of Y2O3, Eu2O3, and urea in concentrated HNO3 (pH 7 adjusted with NH4OH, autoclave, 90-210°C, 12 h). The samples are characterized by powder XRD, SEM, and photoluminescence spectroscopy. The phosphor displays an intense red emission at 615 nm under 254 nm excitation. The intensity of the emission significantly increases with increasing reaction temperatures. At the same time, the morphology of the phosphor powders changes from spherical to a rod-like shape. -(CHANG, H.-Y.; CHEN, F.-S.; LU*, C.-H.; J. Alloys Compd. 509 (2011) 41, 10014-10019, http://dx.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
