A number of Islamic boarding schools are growing rapidly. However, living in Islamic Boarding School give a high risk of Covid-19 transmission because of the intensive interraction of the students and teachers within the same isolated environment while doing activities together. There is no research report on the new normal of Islamic boarding schools during the Covid-19 pandemic in Sumbawa. The purpose of this study was to explore the new normal of lifestyle at Islamic boarding schools during the Covid-19 pandemic in Sumbawa. The descriptive research method was used in this research. Sumbawa was chosen to represent the new normal conditions carried out by Islamic boarding schools during the Covid-19 pandemic in West Nusa Tenggara. 9 Islamic boarding schools were chosen with 88 respondents who were given a questionnaire and interview. The researchers used a purposive sampling technique with univariate data analysis presented in a table describing the amount and percentage. There has been a change in activities, regulations when entering Islamic boarding schools and the need for health for each element in it due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The finding indicates that the number of teachers who had received counseling and training on Health protocols was 18 (20.5%), 40 (45.5%) were online with schools and 30 (34.1%) had already been from other sources. 72 (81.8%) agreed students should start studying at school. Then 16 (18.2%) disagreed, 49 (57%) have attended seminars about COVID and 37 (43%) never. 37 (42%) had attended training on COVID and 51 (58%) had never attended the training. 55 (62.1%) currently admitted that the students have studied at the school. 9 (10.3%), and 24 (27.6%) students are studying at school with dormitory. 69 (78.4%) answered that the students had entered the school and 19 (20.2%) answered that they had not. 43 (48.9%) required students to carry out rapid tests, 7 (8%) required PCR and, 29 (33%) self-isolation at school. Summary: Majority of respondence hope that the students will start to learn face-toface by applying the right health protocol. Health workers are supposed to do a socialization in Islamic boarding schools about health protocol to prevent the transmission of Covid-19.
BACKGROUND: Coronavirus is a health problem that is happened worldwide and impacted on many sectors. However, there is no research that provides information on health professional survivors from coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) experience in self-management. AIM: The purpose of this study is to explore self-management experience among health professional survivors from COVID-19 in West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. METHODS: Purposive sampling, one-on-one, in-depth with semi-structural interviews was conducted to collect the data in this study. Data saturation was achieved after interviewing twelve health professional survivors from COVID-19 in West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. Narratives were analyzed by Colaizzi’s (1978) seven-step method. RESULTS: Four emergent themes were identified in this study including self-awareness (preventing transmission, improving immunity system, dietary adjustment and accessing appropriate treatment), social relationship (negative feeling and social support), stress management (sharing experience each other’s, reducing negative emotional, and self-introspection), focus on learning (looking for information from survival COVID-19, looking for information from YouTube and looking for information from google search). CONCLUSION: The experience among health professionals in self-management while struggling to recover quickly from COVID-19 can be used as valuable information for Indonesian society.
Background: The rapid spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has caused many fatalities in Indonesia. This condition has triggered social changes that were never imagined before. There is no research that explores the public's perception of the sociological situation. Purpose: To sociologically explore community perceptions of the COVID-19 pandemic situation in Indonesia Methods: Purposive sampling, one-on-one, in-depth with semi-structural interviews were conducted to collect data. Data saturation was achieved after interviewing ten participants. Narratives were analysed by Colaizzi’s (1978) seven-step method. Results: Six themes identified to illustrate sociologically community perceptions of the COVID-19 pandemic situation in Indonesia were: 1. COVID-19 is very dangerous; 2. Threats to the social life sector; 3. Threats to the economic sector; 4. Threats to the education sector; 5. Global conspiracy; 6. Creating a new work area. Conclusion: This pandemic condition has changed many things in the social order of society and has a direct impact on various sectors such as education and the economy. Information about the impact of social phenomena that occur on society during a pandemic will be valuable information for government to determine appropriate policies about COVID-19 in Indonesia.
Latar Belakang: Kondisi yang paling berbahaya dari pasien diabetes adalah komplikasi yang dapat diderita dimasa mendatang. Perlu dipersiapkan komunitas kelompok diabetes agar mampu mengimplementasikan manajemen diri selama menjalani perawatan diri di rumah untuk menurunkan resiko komplikasi. Tujuan: Mempersiapkan komunitas kelompok diabetes melalui monitoring tanda-tanda vital dan gula darah secara berkala, dan edukasi manajemen diri. Metode: Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan dengan tehnik wawancara, himbauan secara persuasive dan monitoring. Ini dilakukan untuk mempersiapkan komunitas kelompok diabetes, monitoring tanda-tanda vital dan gula darah secara berkala, dan edukasi manajemen diri agara pasien diabetes mampu mengimplementasikan manajamen diri selama berada di rumah. Hasil: Pasien diabetes di pusat kesehatan masyarakat Moyo Hilir, Sumbawa, Nusa Tenggara Barat di data kemudian di berikan undangan untuk hadir di aula desa Kakiang. Saat semua pasien diabetes telah berkumpul di balai desa. Tenaga kesehatan mulai melakukan pendataan, pemeriksaan kesehatan seperti tanda-tanda vital (tekanan darah, suhu, nadi dan pernafasan), pemeriksaan gula darah serta pengukuran tingkat manajemen diri pasien tersebut. Dokter, perawat dan ahli gizi memberikan informasi kesehatan kepada komunitas diabetes Kesimpulan: Mempersiapkan komunitas kelompok diabetes agar mampu mengimplementasikan manajemen diri selama menjalani perawatan diri di rumah memiliki potensi besar untuk meningkatkan manajemen diri pasien diabetes dan menurunkan resiko komplikasi di masa mendatang.
