This study compares the personality characteristics of athletes in individual and team sports. 197 athletes (105 individual, 92 team, 131 males, and 66 females) completed the SPQ-20 Sport Personality Questionnaire. This questionnaire is composed of four sub-scales of 20 personality traits. The data were collected by Sport Personality Questionnaire 20 (SPQ-20) and the statistical analysis was performed with SPSS software. In order to describe the data, the description used to compare the average is the t-test. The results revealed that individual sport athletes scored significantly higher only on flow than team sport athletes. The team sport athletes scored significantly higher on conscientiousness, self-awareness, and ethics than what the individual sport athletes did. No significant difference was found between two groups on achievement, adaptability, competitiveness, visualization, intuition, goal setting, pressure management, self-efficacy, failure fear control, stress management, emotions, self-talk, empathy, relationships, aggressiveness, and impression management. It can be concluded that the personality characteristics of athletes are different between individual and team sports.
In every sport there are different agility demands, and agility measurement was supposed to be different. However, existing tools for measurement agility is considered not valid and reliable for measuring agility in badminton. The purpose of this study is to create agility test which is valid and reliable for badminton. For the purpose of this study, we recruited twenty students (10 badminton students of sport faculty and 10 professional badminton athletes, age range between 17 -21 yr) by using R & D method. There are six stages; (1) analysis needed; (2) design; (3) prototype; (4) testing; (5) revision; and (6) validity and reliability of the test. Min K. Chin test was adopted to create a Badminton Agility Test (BAT) then inserted additional tools of computer software and hardware to facilitate the operation. Result of the quality and feasibility testing are: (1) the panel was slippery; (2) avoid confusion when start. The solutions of quality and feasibility are; (1) to replace the tread surface with non-slip material, rubber carpet is the most logical choice; (2) adding a sound signal when to start the test. The reliability value of BAT was 0.884, and validity of each item (r count ) were 0.864; 0.884; 0.869; 0.867; 0.858; 0.885; 0.862; 0.863. Statistical analysis revealed that the correlation coefficient is greater than the correlation coefficient table (r count > r table ), suggesting that the BAT is reliable and valid to measuring badminton agility. Due to movement specificity, the BAT has significance for badminton agility assessment.
Blended learning is a combined teaching method between conventional and modern technology-based. This study aim to investigate how is the response of students and teachers to the use of blended learning in physical education class. Three different blended learning designs in order to see which the best design for what physical education material, then each design was applied in lesson plans. Total participant in this study is 681 people. In-depth interview to physical education teachers and high school students in Semarang city was performed to collect the data. Regardless the design of blended learning, it takes together blended learning is applicable for physical education learning process as seen in the data that 89% of participant had agree and only 11% disagree. Blended learning has accepted very well both by students and PE teachers. Blended learning is acceptable in order to improve the quality of physical education learning process.
