<p class="NoList1">People who are capable of speaking and writing two languages well arecalled "bilingual", they commonly switch a language to another in their communication, that is code switching. This study focuses on analysing codeswitching used by Indonesian Celebrities in Social Media, using theory of code switching proposed by Romaine in Susanto (2008) and Hoffman (1992).The aims of this research are 1). to describe and analyzes the types of codeswitching and 2). To find the most dominant type of them in Social-Media. This study investigates code switching used in Social Media. The objectives of this study are to find out types and the most dominant type of code switching used by Indonesian Celebrities in Social Media. This study uses descriptive qualitative approach. The data are collected from the utterances of Maudy Ayunda and Boy William as Indonesian Celebrities which are analyzed by using Romaine in Susanto (2008) and Hoffman (1992) theory oncode switching. It is found that from three videos on social media, 20 data are found and classified into three types of code switching. There are 7 data of inter-sentential of code switching and 12 intra-sentential, and 1 of tag switching.</p><p> </p><p><em>Key words: sociolinguistics, code switching, Social-Media</em><strong></strong></p>
<p class="8Abstractcontent">This research is carried out to find out (1) the types of code-switching used by Boy William in the “Breakout” program on Net TV, (2) the most dominant type of code-switching used by Boy William in “Breakout’’ program on Net TV? The researchers use the descriptive qualitative method by collecting the data from three episodes of Breakout TV program, the data was taken by focusing on Boy William utterances. It’s found 40 data that is classified into three types of code-switching, there are inter-sentential code-switching, intra-sentential switching, and tag switching. The research result shows that there are 4 inter-sentential code-switching used in Boy’ utterances, 35 intra-sentential, and 1 of tag switching. In brief, from three videos that the researchers observed there is 10% utterances of inter-sentential, 87,5 % using intra-sentential, and 2,5% tag switching used by Boy William in Breakout music program on Net TV. Then, intra-sentential code-switching is the most often used by the speaker.</p><p> </p><strong>Keywords:</strong> sociolinguistics, code-switching, English learning
Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah agar para relawan/pengajar di Yayasan Gemma Insani Indonesia dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar peserta didiknya, juga agar dapat meningkatkan kosakata bahasa Inggris sebagai bekal untuk belajar di sekolah dasar. Umumnya, Guru hanya sepintas mengenalkan kosa kata lalu mengajak anak untuk melafalkannya saja dan proses pembelajaran yang terjadi adalah anak-anak menghadapi suatu proses belajar yang monoton. Hal ini menjadi penyebab mengapa hasil dari pembelajaran tersebut tidak memberikan hasil apapun ketika anak memasuki jenjang Sekolah Dasar. Ini merupakan salah satu tantangan guru ataupun pengajar untuk menggunakan media pembelajaran yang menarik dan menyenangkan. Salah satu media yang efektif dalam pembelajaran kosa kata Bahasa Inggris adalah permainan cross word puzzle. Luaran yang akan dihasilkan adalah para relawan dapat menerapkan metode permainan cross word puzzle dalam pengajaran kosa kata bahasa Inggris.
Language acquisition cannot just be acquired from birth. There is a process and stages in acquiring a language. Language is obtained because of the continuous practice factor. It is possible for someone who already has a mother tongue to have a second language (B2) which is used as a communication tool alongside the first language. Acquisition of a second language can be obtained through the influence of the environment or activities carried out continuously. This study will describe how the effect of viewing on social media YouTube affects the acquisition of a second language for a five years old girl. This research uses qualitative methods with descriptive explanations. The results of this study found that the subject's second language proficiency in English was evident from his understanding of the films and videos she had watched repeatedly. His mastery of a second language can also be seen in the ability of the subject to mention the objects around her, the names of fruits and animals, and to be able to make simple sentences in English.Keywords: Language acquisition, second language, YouTube.
<p>Kesalahan adalah hal yang umum dalam belajar bahasa asing. Bagi pembelajar bahasa, tata bahasa dapat memberikan banyak tekanan dalam proses pembelajaran. Kalimat atau pernyataan yang tidak gramatikal menyebabkan pembicara mengalami kesulitan dalam menyampaikan pesan dalam berkomunikasi. Untuk mencari tahu masalah yang ada, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) kesalahan tata bahasa yang ditemukan pada tugas online pembelajar EFL, (2) kesalahan tata bahasa yang paling dominan ditemukan pada tugas online pembelajar EFL. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data diambil dari tugas siswa melalui grup WhatsApp dan Google Classroom. Bentuk data yang 2diambil adalah bentuk lisan dan tulisan. Dari hasil akhir dapat disimpulkan bahwa omission merupakan kesalahan yang paling dominan ditemukan pada tugas online siswa dengan 9 kesalahan dan persentasenya adalah 45%. Urutan kedua kesalahan dari segi jumlah adalah addition dengan 6 kesalahan dan 30%, selanjutnya misordering atau salah susun dengan 4 kesalahan dengan 20% dan terakhir adalah kesalahan formasi atau misformation dengan 1 kesalahan dan 5%. Diharapkan dari penelitian ini dapat memberikan manfaat bagi pembelajar bahasa untuk mengetahui kesalahan yang sering dilakukan selama proses pembelajaran bahasa asing terutama kesalahan tata bahasa.</p><p>Kata kunci: analisis kesalahan, kesalahan tata bahasa, tugas online</p>
