The results of several years of research of flow-induced carbon dioxide/hydrogen sulfide (CO 2 /H 2 S) corrosion using the dynamic field tester (DFT) coupled to various crude oil wells is summarized. This includes the gathering of field data for realistic assessment of corrosion rates and its comparison to those rates obtained from existing prediction models, evaluation of steel metallurgy and composition, operational conditions, water cuts, and flow rate effects.KEY WORDS: carbon dioxide, dynamic field tester, hydrogen sulfide, multiphase flow
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
